It is a similar issue to what we had under Napier. No sense of urgency or momentum. We will get to it when we get to it.

With the early signing period and portal, we need the UF coach to be focused on UF, instead of spending his time coaching his previous team and giving UF whatever crumbs are left over.

 

Let me try Coaching 101 for Agenda Pushers... SUMRALL at TULANE was 2-6 against top teams in his time there. Tulane talent < Florida talent. He can NOT be expected to have normal Florida results with the team Tulane fielded which is not SEC-level. No '24 Lagway, no Baugh, no defensive stars. If napier was coaching the Tulane talent the last 4 years he would have been destroyed. Sumrall, given Florida's average talent level historically, would improve on that success rate against top teams.

Or compare game-by-game next year. 25- usf L, scum L, aTm L, corndog L, pups L, Ole Miss L, ky L, tn L. All gone in '26 but pups. We swap a home game w/TX (W!) for a home game w/Oklahoma. Pick up @Auburn (will be tough), KY at home, SC wherever, @ref$u (probably w/ interim coach), + cupcakes. If everybody doesn't leave and Sumrall has a pulse, we are in bowl range.

 

What? A quote about BN. Who cares. I'm really going on personality (I still need to know more) alone at this point and that's very different. I like him. Seems like a serious, no BS guy. Good intensity, but not goofball energy. I like what I'm seeing and I'll take it from there.

 

I hate the hire too but not the coach. Has zero to do with sumrall and i hope he wins em all but its a weak hire after all the talking ss did.

 

Who cares about objective measures when you can go on personality alone?

 

Talk about pushing an agenda. Napier did coach Tulane level talent for four years and had a nearly identical record.

In the end, though, it comes down to results. You're either pulling the rope with everyone else or you're in the way, so . . .

 

Those players wearing those gator jerseys last night sure seemed proud of them. They arent all self centered shits.

 

That is what our leadership has beaten us down to. From a program that could compete for championships to just praying to make a meaningless bowl game.

Personality maybe. The results. Not so much.

 

Funny they didn't seem to mind quitting at Kentucky or against Tennessee. I guess they can't generate enough pride for all the games.

 

I can see both sides of that argument but ol miss being lsu's rival is almost laughable and they just dont like the reality that their job doesnt hold a candle to the lsu job.

 

Road games arent as easy to get up for and some other players were getting snaps.

Im fully behind sumrall but have no use for the administration above him. No confidence left for those guys.

 

Either way, he's the coach and you've got two choices. Suck on your thumb or get on with it. Have fun with that.
