Sumrall has one year at the P4 level as a co-DC, while Muschamp was a proven elite DC at the highest level. Tulane's defense is currently middle of the pack or below in every category. It's a bad comp, not sure what else to say.

The Meyer thing.. just no. Not only was Meyer not a "defense guy", he was trending generationally at Utah, fielding a 13-0 team with multiple blowout wins against power opponents.

 

It's probably more bashing the admin/outcome than bashing the guy himself, but remember that lotta comments get deleted. These are just a few nuggets that, in the least, are not flattering.

Hiring this American Sunbelt Sumrall (ASS) will burn this whole admin down. Hopefully within two years, this mistake will become more obvious than it is now
