We ended the season 4-0 and thus we should count on current results to dictate future results. Oh wait that didnt work out. Maybe we can take analytical data and evidence over time that has proven to be right over the years and make assumptions that are more likely to br correct than knee jerk reactions.

The opinions of folks like this are akin to those who put stock into preseason polls.

 

The state of Florida produces much more talent than Ole miss, it's a lot easier to recruit at UF than Ole Miss, UF has a lot more money than Ole Miss, UF is also a much better brand name than Ole Miss. All of these things are facts, not "my analysis". You can't dispute a single one of them.

Do you expect a coach at Ole Miss to win a sec title? It's ole miss. It's very hard to have success there. Kiffin's success there is very impressive. When you have ole miss ranked 3rd in the country half way through the season you are a great coach.

Also Dan Mullen proves my point. Mullen's record at UF is much better than it was at MSU. Muschamp's record at UF was much better than his record at South Carolina. Ron Zook's record at UF was much better than it was at Illinois. The program matters. It's easier to win at UF than at most other places.

Go compare Nick Saban's record at Michigan state vs Alabama/LSU? It was much better at Alabama and LSU than MSU. Did Nick Saban win a conference title or national title at Michigan state? Nope. The program matters.

Kiffin is a much better coach than Mullen and even Mullen was able to have two top 7 seasons and a top 13 season in just four seasons here and that was with a horrible DC.

I would like Kiffin but he would be pricey. I read Ole Miss is about to offer a new deal. He'll be offered a raise, nice buy out, and they will increase NIL.. Ole Miss was reported to be 13th last season, which to me makes his success more impressive. He's not going to see Ole Miss as a place to win big if they cannot buy a top roster and pay his staff well.
