I would consider Riley a similar option

Aul Finebaum Makes Prediction On Lane Kiffin’s Future

    Relevant quote:
“I think Florida would be Lane Kiffin’s first choice, if he leaves. Now, I tend to believe he’s going to leave. I am in the minority and every time we say this, a bunch of people in Oxford put their pitchforks up and want to fight. Listen, Oxford’s a great place. Nobody’s saying it isn’t. But I think Florida is a better job long-term…. I think it’s unique and Kiffin has always been attracted to it for whatever reason.”

Well, January 2024, so I didn’t think of it as “going into” last season. Of course, I have found over the last few years that time slips by real fast. I actually wondered if ASU or Boise State tried to convince him that their situations were better than being in the B1G far west division.

But certainly, a program that had just played for the title, and undoubtedly aspired to do so again, decided that he was the guy to lead them. That’s got to count for something. Of course, given our recent hiring history as a program with title aspirations, some might wonder how much it counts.

    I doubt Riley's leaving $70+ million guaranteed.

"Oxford is a great place", really?

It's a quaint little town in the middle of nowhere Mississippi surrounded by poverty, beats Starkville, Auburn and a few other similar places, but great, don't think so.

    Of course you would:rolleyes:.

On the other hand I have relatives that lived briefly in Oxford and couldn't wait to GTFO of Mississippi, as they said.

Btw, we were recently in Portland for a wedding and had a great time, except for the rain. Traveled from the beaches to Mt Hood, all good. Guess the War got rained out. :p

I think you are being sarcastic? Mississippi- last in life expectancy. Worst educational system in the country. Average income of $95k in Washington (7th in the us) versus $54k (again, last) in missy? Pike place market, chihuly gardens, incredible hikes thru ocean front forests, incredible food and mountain biking that will curl your toes. Or… north central Mississippi…lafeyette county.

LK has lived in Florida. Gotta think he sees the difference!

Nobody vacations in Oxford, unless they want to trace steps of the great southern writers. Even with the population growth in the last decade in the south, Mississippi managed to lose population (while Washington grew). You might ‘take Mississippi’ but most see it as the worst state in the union by most metrics.

Wanna I looked up some basic recipes for bushwhacker. More power to anyone who drinks one, but to this old Gator, not a proper drink for me.
I’d drink one to say I did, but then back to my normal spirits.
