LSU quite early said they had no interest in and never pursued Napier at all. Some gator fans found this odd as Napier was in their backyard and had built in recruiting tied in LA so took it as a warning sign - if LSU had zero interest in local Napier, should UF expand it search beyond its only target in Napier. In no way did Napier pick UF over LSU. They didn’t want him at all and that was well known.

 

I would prefer a coach that hasn’t peaked yet and still ascending. Has room for growth …That’s hungry. IMO that eliminates Riley.

Also, someone with some varied experiences… which IMO eliminates Hartline. I agree, he’s going to be a good HC at some point but being a position coach at the same school for 8 years, with limited experience at calling plays, this is a ginormous jump. I would want to see more outside of his safe space.

As for G6 candidates, I would go after Summerall if we had to go that route. His growth/ascension has been impressive and checks off a lot of boxes. He’s going to be an SEC coach in the next 2 years …and he’s going to be a really good one IMO.

 

Agree, and he is 12-9 at Washington to date. Solid, not great, which is why I used the language I did.

 

I don't think anyone is saying he's a sure fire hit. It seems like the point is he is a solid coach. Can a solid coach elevate or are they eternally stuck?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I expect this is due more to how the betting is going vs any real knowledge. Who knows?

 

He will get a raise and an extention at the very least. I doubt he is interested in several of the openings . Washington is better than half the jobs available .

 

Games, that should should be true unless theres a crooked official involved. Coaches moving? Theres always a chance that information slips out or is purposely leaked. 50/50 there have been more than passing discussions.

 

Seattle used to be very nice. Not so much any more. Better than Portland. What a freaking disaster

If you look at top candidates and better odds for other programs at or near UF’s level, they don’t have Fisch near the top of their board.

It sounded more 50:50 for Kiffin vs staying at Ole Miss. The article suggested UF would "pivot" to Drink, if Kiffin stays. Not what I was hoping to read.

 

National outlets have no clue what’s going on.

 

I don't think anyone outside of the people negotiating could say Kiffin 100% to FL at this point. The article put Kiffin going to FL on their list of predictions, so I just summarized. I think all their prediction have caveats, not just us.

I feel like we are getting Kiffin, but... I don't have any special knowledge.
