Fisch is my #1 hope, bc he's a true Gator.

Billy G my #2, as Gator enough, and assuming he delivers with the opportunity he's been given (though we have to see better play from QB position, be it DJ or next guy up).

Kiffin i suppose is Gator enough, as a Gator fan growing up, and special consideration as Monte's boy, as a Bucs' fan. But really all he's won, is a couple of CUSA's, which puts him on par with....Jim McElwain (...not to mention his checkered past, against the pressure cooker crucible that UF-- HFBC is, and the temptations abounding in Gainesville).

...but to me, Fisch is THE guy. Solid resume', and super solid work as HC at AZ, and already at Washington, turning things around.

If we're going to throw stupid money at someone, let it be a true Gator, and he seems to be the right guy.

Meyer - in 2009

 

Champ was a hot commodity when we tapped him. Texas' "coach in waiting", during the brief window that that was a thing.

Mac was a befuddling attempt at Meyer 2.0 (poor man's urbs); an attempt to capture lightning in a bottle. That one was a "bunt for a single", ill grant you that.

Mullen was a pretty solid hire. Didn't work out, but you know what he actually is?

Prelude to Kiffin.

We've literally already seen that movie, except with Kiffin, we have a track record of train wreck endings, that we did not have with Mullen.

Napes is a Shakespearian tragedy. Coulda been soooo great, if he'd only get out of his own damn way. He's the would be grand slam, that bounced foul, off the foul post (continuing with your baseball analogy). But he put the foundation in place, that makes UF THE #1 most desirable destination for potential head coaches.

Bases are still loaded (thanks to BN), we're just looking for the right batter to bring em in.

Imo, that guy is Fisch, not Kiffin.

 

^^^and btw, the long run outlook on Fisch, is waaayyyy better than Kiffin.

We've seen Kiffin's upper end potential.

Sky's the limit with 49 year old, 2nd HFBC gig, 3rd year, true Gator, Jedd Fisch.

Currently I am all for Lane however I am seeing the upside of a few dark horse candidates I am hearing about. No Drink. Absolutely no Drink for us. Long term there may be a candidate other than Lane with a higher upside.

 

This isn't 2008.

 

Strange that Fisch's name doesn't come up in the top 5, top 10, or even mentioned at all for the other top schools on the coaching hunt, while Kiffin's name is at the top of most school's boards. I guess those ADs, hiring committees, and governors must not know about this very well kept secret.

 

Not bringing in the right coach could be the equivalent of grounding into a 1 - 2 - 5 double play. Those bases would get empty fast. Question is could the portal refill them?

If he gets the Huskies into the playoffs in the near term, he'll get snapped up quicker than a NY minute. I'm sure there are AD's that are in a wait and see mode. UF however, will probably be out of cycle for his services if so.

 

Uhhh, Fisch and Billy G have won even less than Kiffin. Way less. In fact Billy G hasn’t even won a game yet.

 

Deboer went 14-1 with a trip to the national championship without depth?

 

But he’s a Gator so he must be good. Not to mention it’s the only reason his name is brought up.
