Bucs franchise Barrett, making Jameis an unrestricted free agent.
I grew up a Bucs fan, became a Dolphins fan in my teens Thanks to Marino, but always rooted for both.

This make it easier to root for my childhood team a little more.

Bucs seem prepared to move on from Jameis Winston

Brady is going to tarnish his own legacy if he signs with the Bucs. He will have a horrible season with the talent and coaching they have. I see him getting very frustrated very quickly in that situation. In my opinion, if the Pats don't sign him, Brady just needs to retire.

Respectfully disagree. Brady has won SBs with less. Not getting excited (ill believe it when i see it), but must disagree with your assessment. Bucs got a solid core, and if you put a creative as hell all world all time gamer under center....id be VERY excited.

Just another reason for this Dolphins fan to root against the Bucs if they land Brady. I'd want them to lose every game. I'm not so sure he's not the worlds greatest system QB of all time.

It does make it easier. I’m a Tampa native, was a season ticket holder for decades - left when they drafted Rapiest. I will probably start routing for them again, but it may take a while. The simple fact that the drafted him still stings - but that’s just me. Good riddance to that bum who I think should have been in prison.

I root for them, and would be happy if Brady won there.
    1. I like the Bucs
    2. As a fins fan first, he would be out of the AFC East finally! #FinsUp!

That was just the icing on the cake... Selling out the team to but manu, firing Gruden who was getting more done with less, keeping payroll barebones, hiring Raheem, among other things... Then taking the rapist w eating fool. I gave up my season tickets for the earlier idiocy, and have had at best a casual interest since he was drafted. I welcome this but fear he'll have few options and end up here for a year, ugh.

I’m a Boston fan in all sports, but wanted to be able to pull for Tampa, unless our interests collided. But, like many of you, couldn’t do so as long as Winston was part of the team. Only player ever that made me feel that strongly. Mainly because, If I held to a strict moral code regarding players, I’d never watch sports.

If Tommy goes to the Bucs, I’ll definitely root for them (right behind the Pats). I know they have, what many consider, the best receiving corps in the league, but how is the OL and defense?

Personally, as much as I love Tom Brady, I think he would find it takes much more than being surrounded by good players to win it all.

He's never coming to the Bucs. And why? Yep, the weather. No way in hell a guy from N Cali who played college ball in Ann Arbor and 20+ years in New England is going to deal with this place in August-Oct. Especially given his age and when there are other just as or more viable options on the table.

    Thanks for a civilized disagreement.

Look, I don't have a problem with the Bucs. They've got some decent players, but this isn't a team that's a few pieces away from competing for championships. I certainly don't blame them for going after Brady.

I like Brady but he's physically not what he was 5 years ago. He's benefited from playing pretty much the same system and having an owner dedicated to investing in putting the right offensive players around him. But there's a reason that even though he's a lifelong Patriot the team don't seem to have much interest in resigning him.

I wish both Brady and the Bucs (assuming they sign him) all the best, but if he doesn't resign with the Patriots, I think he should retire a a Patriot.

Brady didn’t compile the stat’s and wins he has by being stupid. Don’t expect to see him sign with a perpetual loser with a horrible front office.

Don’t forget Jameis has excellent receivers and tight ends.

Of course the Bucs would have no problem paying washed up Tom Brady big money just to go 7-9 for the next couple of seasons, they could keep Jameis if they wanna do that.
