What has Johnson done to be head coach. Like I posted on another thread Jonson it’s a long shot for the job, Boise St it’s also interviewing 5 other candidates on Tuesday .
When you build a winning program your coaches will get poached. Just look at Bama. Yes continuity is great but it's part of the process. Hopefully we just make good hires no matter the position.
If he leaves then I want Kendall Briles as out OC... We should be able to steal him away from Arkansas. Two years ago he has FSU looking like a team that were playing competent football on offense. I love that hurry-up style that he plays... something that we're missing.
I added some more info on my post... But truthfully, I have never seen Kerwin Bell's offense in action.
Briles would be a no for me. 5 different schools in 5 years. Couple that with dad falling on the sword for him at Baylor. Also the play he designed at the aforementioned FSU that involved lining a player up facing the wrong way. Being an OC for CDM is like being one for SOS. I'm not in the "Kerwin Bell for every opening" camp. But, in this situation, if Johnson leaves, it makes sense since he is already here.
True, but unlike us, Bama has 30 "analysts" that they can pick from to move up to "coaching" when they get poached so it keeps some continuity.
Johnson is a talented and young OC with high potential. Tack on the fact he's a minority and he's going to get a lot of attention in today's world.
This is what happens if you have a successful program. It’s a good thing to have to deal with. No one is interviewing the OC from UT for HC positions... for a reason.
