Per CBS Sports, and SI now.
He is someone I do not want to lose.
All part of the process of his professional growth.
If you have good coordinators that's what happens.
Sucks, but makes sense.
I believe Johnson has been a large part in the evolution of the offense.
Unfortunately, I would prefer him as UF's next coach once Mullen jets for the NFL.
Too bad Grantham is not out interviewing.
What has Johnson done to be head coach. Like I posted on another thread Jonson it’s a long shot for the job, Boise St it’s also interviewing 5 other candidates on Tuesday .
When you build a winning program your coaches will get poached. Just look at Bama. Yes continuity is great but it's part of the process. Hopefully we just make good hires no matter the position.
I get it, but there are a couple of threads where that horse is getting beat to death.
If he leaves then I want Kendall Briles as out OC... We should be able to steal him away from Arkansas.
Two years ago he has FSU looking like a team that were playing competent football on offense.
I love that hurry-up style that he plays... something that we're missing.
You sure? Not Kerwin Bell? Problem save some money.
I added some more info on my post... But truthfully, I have never seen Kerwin Bell's offense in action.
Briles would be a no for me. 5 different schools in 5 years. Couple that with dad falling on the sword for him at Baylor. Also the play he designed at the aforementioned FSU that involved lining a player up facing the wrong way. Being an OC for CDM is like being one for SOS. I'm not in the "Kerwin Bell for every opening" camp. But, in this situation, if Johnson leaves, it makes sense since he is already here.
True, but unlike us, Bama has 30 "analysts" that they can pick from to move up to "coaching" when they get poached so it keeps some continuity.
if Johnson gets another job somewhere else, perhaps we can create a BOGO deal and include Grantham
Johnson is a talented and young OC with high potential. Tack on the fact he's a minority and he's going to get a lot of attention in today's world.
This is what happens if you have a successful program. It’s a good thing to have to deal with. No one is interviewing the OC from UT for HC positions... for a reason.
Like with Grantham.......runs away....
