What that does that mean?
Evans what? Alive? Committing? Visiting?
Now we’ll see if he can sell elite recruits on the fact that long term, a scooter in Gainesville is better than a Charger in Athens or Tuscaloosa. Glad he’s a Gator and hope he stays a long time.
if you know....you know
It's Twitter. No actual descriptive verbs or complete sentences are allowed.
I think Htown means Houston which is where Evans is from. But even so, I'm still not sure what that tweet means.
Probably nothing important. Like most tweets.
There are a lot of people on Twitter implying Brewster is the savior for our recruiting efforts. "Just turn him loose and we'll have top kids lining up to play for us."
Why can he sell UF to kids better than our current coaches? (he's been with us for less than 10 days)
Is he just more aggressive?
Does he relate to 18 year old football players better than others?
Does he have better relationships with HS coaches?
I know there is a big difference between a rain-maker sales rep and the average Joe (in corp America)...but I just assumed college recruiting would not have that wide of a gap between the A recruiter and the B recruiter.
I was thinking Htown as in Hogtown, but Houston makes sense if he's visiting Evans
A good example of the difference is Sam Pittman and Matthew Luke. Georgia has been recruiting lights out, especially on the OL. Luke was a head coach previously and an OL guy, so you would think it would be more impressive to play for him, since Pittman was just a position coach and a really old guy. However, on the transition, Georgia's OL looked like it was falling apart with Braun bolting to UF, Van Pran considering UF, and Broderick Jones considering Auburn. They ended up keeping Jones and Van Pran, but they probably wanted 5 high quality OL and had to settle for 3 really great OL, and a couple of the OL they got would make us unhappy if we got them while having the same need for OL recruits. Some of these recruiting coaches just really know how to build relationships and excite recruits to play for them. Brewster knows how to do this. I don't know that you can teach it to a coach.
Yep, some people just know how to flat out recruit and Pittman is one of them. Got Arky the 30th ranked class AND Feleipe to transfer there. He's a helluva recruiter
When I was living in Athens during the 90's and 00's it was predominately Escalades the Top football players were driving down Broad St and Milledge Ave..........or at least when ever any were stop by university police as I recall......that was what they were driving.......just sayin........
I think it means Brewster is a hogtown Gator
Brewster isn’t starting from square one on any of the recruits he’s in contact with right now. He offered some ‘22 TE and had been working on him when he was at UNC. Same with Evans. He’s not a DH coming off the bench. He’s just wearing a new polo but part of recruiting is getting the player to trust you and what you’re selling.
Less than 10 days and already better than our current coaches? Have you heard of coach Turner, D-Rob, and Gray?
I am not a twitterer, but @htowngators is the Houston Gator club account.
If u didn’t know now u do
It's just typical fan hype. I'll be surprised if the results are significantly different. But hopefully I'm surprised.
Im not even sure what I was typing there. Oh well...
