Remember that we've played 8 games against current top 12 teams (as judged by the AP.) EIGHT! That's over 1/4 of our schedule.
    That seems like a lot.
We've gone 1-7 against those top 12 teams, which isn't great, but how many other teams have played that many top teams?
    Not many, I think.

It would be difficult for the committee to make such a public transfer to using the NET system -- and then justify leaving out a team right around the # 30 mark.

I THINK the Gators are on the positive side of the bubble. It helps that Arky had some decent metrics and came in playing their best basketball, it was a neutral site, and we gigged 'em by double digits. A win over LSU would sure add another level of comfort.

Liking our chances, not a lock, but even a loss to LSU should not knock us out, imo

The Gonzaga loss the other night didn't help those of us on the bubble.

I still see 7 SEC teams making the tournament,

Kentucky, Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn are locks.

Ole Miss is probably in with a win over Bama, but they made need to make the semis to edge us out for the 6th team.

The only way we are left out is if South Carolina runs the table

Reading in a number of places that heading into today we were first four out. Win tomorrow and we are safely in. Lose, and we are at the mercy of other teams also on the bubble.

I know that's nothing new. But I was hoping we'd be more on the "in" side of the bubble after a solid win than we apparently are.

looking at Lunardi this morning and has us in Dayton against NC State.

i dont understand why Ole Miss is still a 9 seed playing UCF in Columbia. If they win they would likely play Virginia.

They should swap us with them considering their lousy schedule

Funny. Don’t think I ever labored so much over the brackets before. Even in other bubble years....

It’s a case of good metrics vs lousy record.
We have 7-seed metrics but, “out of the tourney” type W/L record.

I do think, given our record, the committee might be inclined to make us win our way into the round of 64.

Will be interesting to see the updates on bracket matrix. SB Nation has us as among the group of last 4 bye's, which give's us some breathing room.

Those stats count autobids. I think all that is really being evaluated is between 6 to 10 teams depending on the year. So "67 out of 68" becomes "5 out of 6" in some years and, perhaps, "9 out of 10" in others. If @GatorLurker ran a pick 'em contest for final bracket predictions, there's no doubt in my mind that multiple people would be able to match Lunardi with a strong chance that at least one person would be able to beat him.

Don't understand why Ohio State and St. John's are ahead of Florida in Bracketology...both have under .500 conference records. I'm a believer after yesterday's win, Florida will be get one of the last bye's and be an 11 seed.

    Work to do
    [IMG]
    Florida Gators

If it's possible for a projected No. 11 seed to beat a decent opponent (Arkansas) by 16 points and still not be entirely safe, Florida is that team. UF likely played the game against the Razorbacks already in the hypothetical real-time field of 68, but not by much. A Quad 2 win against Mike Anderson's group doesn't put much if any distance between the Gators and danger and, in fact, a bid thief or two could eliminate that breathing space entirely. The NET ranking in the 30s is going to serve this team well, but, at 18-14, Mike White's men will definitely want to keep going, starting with the quarterfinal against LSU. (Updated: March 14)

Bubble Watch: The bubble is still wide open

    Makes a lot of sense.
Win against LSU, we can get a 10; which I like for us.
Lose, and put us in the play-in. That works for me.

Darn, I thought a UF win over Arky had us in, now you guys are making my head spin. So we HAVE to be in if we win today don't we?

OSU and St John's? Their NET is WAY higher, OSO 55 and the Johnnies at 64. Makes no sense, they'd be ahead of UF

UF currently 33 and that will likely go a bit lower
