More like the Bidens stomped the Bernies.
Yeah, it is interesting that they call themselves a Conservative Party too.
But I would say this is more like Romney or Paul Ryan beating Bernie.
Boris literally ran on a platform of throwing more money into their fully nationalized health care system. So no. Paul Ryan would certainly never do that, Mitt Romney is the godfather of Obamacare, so maybe on the surface he might. But even he still tries to suggest he is anti-Obamacare on a national level, he's just perfectly ok with socialism at a state level (apparantly).
It's basically populist socialists vs. commie socialists. If you are trying to draw a comparison to Trump, other than the crazy hair, the only real comparison seems to be their anti-immigrant rhetoric.
About Corbyn's defeat, I'm quite confident that the single biggest mistake was not stating that Brexit had been approved by the people and would happen, no matter what, that he would absolutely respect it and make sure it'll happen in the very near future, and that his actual job as Prime Minister would be to get the less awful possible deal from the EU. Giving the impression he would make people vote again or would try to turn back the clock was absolutely suicidal, and totally delusional. I'm quite surprised he let himself be cornered in a dead-end alley in such a way.

Remainers waving EU flags gather outside Downing Street to protest after Boris Johnson's thumping election win
Remainers have taken to the streets outside Downing Street this evening to protest against Boris Johnson's emphatic election win - waving flags and placards around and shouting 'not my Prime Minister'.
Dozens descended on Whitehall, central London just hours after Mr Johnson pledged to heal the divisions of Brexit, as he returned to Downing Street after securing a crushing General Election victory over Labour.
Behaving like the leftists here when they lose a vote.
Yeah, I think this is a big reason. Trying to be all things to all people and getting the disaffected leave and remain people under one umbrella was probably an impossible task.
He is also an anti-Semite which didn't help him.

Gonna be ANARCHY in the UK under boris, ANARCHY!!
