Just confirming what we have been saying for years. The ACC is by far away the weakest of the “power five” conferences.
The hard truth is UF might wish they were in the ACC especially moving forward. We can all complain about next years schedule but get used to it. We won't have the advantage of playing in the weaker division of the SEC
Unfortunately, true. The rest of the teams around the country are gonna sit back and watch the SEC teams systematically destroy each other‘s records. Well, FSU will play a week schedule again as well as Ohio State.
I know its sacrilege, and maybe its from being raised by a Nole who loves Bobby, but I actually always liked Bobby. I know , echo of the whistle, Dillard's etc, but he was basically an old school guy doing old school things. This rivalry will likely never see anything close to SOS vs Bobby again. He was right and probably did the smart thing in this regard.
Id love to let them if they can switch schedules with us next year and still finish undefeated...talk is cheap and FSU sucks.
No sympathy from me. Holes won a NC in 93 by having an undefeated WVU left out of the NC game. Suck it!
Just how does the new format “destroy” each others records? We ate scheduled to play the same amount of conference games. This year for example beyond the conference champ we would have qualified 3 more teams, 33% of the field. Thoughts?
division, strength will ebb and flow. Also, if the college football playoff is going to 12 teams next year, I think the advantage of playing against tough competition will prove to be beneficial to the SEC long-term. if you’re not one of the 12 best teams in the country, you don’t need to apply.
Nope. Mike Gipson should be enough for anyone to reconsider giving him a pass. Old school doesn't absolve him. Tom Osborne was old school too. To each their own though.
I realize it’s an accomplishment to go undefeated wire-to-wire: even in the ACC. But that is, as it should be, only part of the equation. I think strength of schedule is absolutely essential to deciding who gets in and FSU had a very weak slate. It matters.
Go take a look at our schedule then go look at FSU's. We have just 1 easy game next year - Samford. Every other game is a premier game, no fluff, no breather, no catch our breath, nada. I would give us 6 wins on FSU's schedule next year but looking at ours, I see 1 or 2 wins. If Napier can address our weaknesses, maybe 6 wins; 10 wins with FSU's schedule.
Naw, I just understand that flawed people exist and I dont judge everyone based on what team they align with.
But there’s so much more than him just being a nole. If it was just that, I would feel the same way. Way too much other stuff for me to just ignore, though.
