Could someone tell me whether if is a way to put someone on Ignore, and, if so, how to do it? Also, what is the difference between blocking and ignoring? Thanks.
I do know if you click someone’s name, the option “Ignore” is there. Haven’t done it before so don’t know what it does versus blocking
Ignore they can read your posts but you can’t see theirs. Block they can’t read your posts and you can’t see theirs. The option to ignore is at the bottom of the page where your blocks are
Never understood why you can't ignore moderators since it's only to your detriment to do so, like not pulling over for the cops. By all means, feel free to continue on your way.
If you have a membership you can block. If you don’t you have ignore. A block prevents the blocked poster from seeing your posts, in addition to not seeing the blocked posters posts. It also blocks the poster in question from seeing entire threads that you start (which can be problematic ). If ignore, the ignored can see your posts but you can’t see theirs. You can’t block ignore moderators.
If you pull up a mod profile and click on 'ignore' you will not see the mod's posts. So you can ignore moderators but it is against the rules to do so.
You can technically do it, but you will get a "friendly" message in about an hour once people have caught on. At least, that's what a friend told me.
The point of the board is generally debating which requires the existence and exchange of competing positions. The few people I move on and off block are clearly just trolling for entertainment. The Russians are hard to take with their nonsense so I regularly send them to the list. So is the crew that makes every thread about covid and masks. The actual right wing debate crew is pretty narrow.
