Mike White better get this thing rolling or Billy might come back in a year or two and coach on the court named after him.
If that's the case, it's because he's not interested in the current vacancies. Who is in the hot seat for the coming season?
Lot of buzz on Philly sports radio about bringing Billy to the Sixers. Alot of interest here for sure and fans are positive about Billy coming, if he does.
Sounds good to me. I'd like to be able to pull for Billy again. I can't pull for the team that left Seattle.
Not unless UF is willing to pay Donovan three or four times what they're paying White. Only way Donovan coaches on the court named after him is if the Magic can host a home game in G'ville against Philly, NO, Chicago or Indy.
I'd trade Embiid for an actual big man thay isn't happy settling for 3s. Build the team around Simmons, a big man, and shooters. If Philly needs a GM let me know, I'm available
ON another Philly / Billy note - Topic of Horford came up. Regrettably AL has born a good bit of the agita of Philly fans..... unfairly. I hope AL stays, we shall see.
I never understood the fit for Al in Philly from the start, with all the money tied up in Embid and Harris in the front court already and now the post quarantine plan of playing Simmons at PF. Not sure who wants that contract but I hope they find a trade partner for him who is a contender. And that's nothing against Philly or Al, it's just a bad pairing
On one hand, I get that Billy doesn't want to be on a rebuilding squad.... That being said, IMO Billy's strength is teaching and developing young guys without egos who buy into his team mentality. All of our best teams were made up of unheralded guys and a lot of our worst teams had 5* studs. To me that is similar with how he struggled with KD/Westbrook yet excelled with young guys and a great coachable floor general in CP3. Billy D would be a nightmare in Philly with Embiid/Simmons.
Thunder are challenged with Chris Paul getting over $40 million of cap space and cap expected to decline next year due to revenue declines. Paul also getting older and on decline. Regarding Al comments above, 76ers played the wrong system for his skill-set. Had to totally change his game and positioning on court to fit in with Joel. Hard for both to play together in formers coaches system. Also on the decline due to age. I see Billy being approached for several NBA jobs. Much better than some of the retreads out there now. Would it be a job he wants in a location his family wants to live? Could go back to college game if sits out a year, as UNC and Duke jobs will both open up soon. Billy would excel at either program. Don’t see him ever returning to UF. If coaches in NBA, I think his dream job is the Knicks, but they continue to be a mess. Nets likely better team in NY for next few years. 76ers look like best team to coach of all the current opportunities. Their star players have a lot of injuries however. Their GM and leadership did not value Butler’s play on both ends of court.
Billy to Bulls. OMGosh - I looked at the Bulls roster. I don't know ANY of these players! Hope they have some draft picks!
