Of course there is...but it isn't a fun wagon. I just can't understand why a resource-rich institution like UF can get into this situation. I feel like I'm back living in what the really old-timer's sarcastically called the Golden Era. The dysfunction at UF has to be at a higher level than just head football coach to be so inept for so many years, particularly when we once had coaches and administrators that showed it could be done here.

 

Don't forget, "the process is more important than wins and losses."

Perhaps, but unlikely, and if so it just prolongs our agony. Unfortunately what we saw in Year 1 was enough to conclude that this coach wasn't up to the job. What you see is what you'll get as long as he continues in this position.

I disagree, but I don’t see a way to six wins in any case. Six wins would have been challenging even with the four must-wins of LIU, USF, MSU, and UK. We’ve already lost one of those and winning the other two is no sure thing. Every other game seems more likely to lose than win even if we get a surprise win here or there.

 

In 4 short years Napier has gotten us to be the 4th best football team in the state. Pretty impressive.

I agree with the tread title as I rcall that SS promised him 5 years when he was hired. W have to endure the same for 2026 as well.

I strongly disagree. Many in any profession can be classy, tactful people and be successful. Many great leaders were also "nice," even when they had to be firm. The leaders I revered the most as an army officer were those I would damn near die for, not out of fear or intimidation of, but rather, the fear that I would disappoint them.

I wonder if we lose to LSU and Miami, does he make it to the Texas game? The swamp will be eager to let him have it, does UF want that negativity on national display? Especially after the spitting incident. If we’re 1-3, might as well hand it over to an interim and see what they can salvage. At least then you can shed the bad press and get some breathing room from the fans.

 

Yes but was their best quality that they were nice? I’m assuming they had other strengths.
