Do you understand what mitigation means? How is what he said asinine?
Right, but we can't compare the US to Canada because of this, and we can't compare Norway to Sweden because of that. There's always some reason you can't compare 2 countries when the comparison works against your narrative.
LOL. Compare the US to like sized countries. Then get back to me.
C’mon that’s a crutch. The food industry is powerful but any adult can very easily make the choice for a healthier lifestyle. And let’s not bring in any socioeconomic issues into the conversation. It actually costs less to eat healthy and last I checked, it doesn’t cost anything to go for a daily 30-45 minute walk outside.
Like I said, there's always some reason. We went through this a while back. Canada's population density, when you include the area where people actually live, is very similar to the US.
So here is CA, TX and FL daily deaths per million. Then when you compare the Unemployment rate, age and Schools being open, it's a knockout. Anyone arguing otherwise is truly just partisan.
So the only comparison to the US is Indonesia, which is the only country within 100 million in population in either direction?
Or do you mean land mass?
LOL. Comparing Canada to the US. Keep it up. About as useful as comparing the US to Australia. Not surprising.
You throw out some comparisons and I'll let you know
Okay, so his point was basically right. You will just pick and choose what comparisons are right based on narrative and won't rely on a set decision rule.
There isn't a set decision rule on a comparison. Compare away. Doesn't make it useful. Most rational people will compare the US to Europe as a whole. I know you know this but choose to argue instead. Seen this show before. Like Lockdowns and Schools all over again. Still waiting for that admission from you...
I understand it completely and it is a vague term. Each percentage of risk reduction comes at a higher cost. How much was the sweet spot that bought the most risk reduction at the lowest cost.
There are those among us who are perfectly comfortable working from home and living with whatever inefficiencies it causes . Many other people cannot do that. Many of the people who cannot work from home have lost their jobs or even their entire business over a virus that has virtually no impact on well over half of the population. That is far too high a price to pay.
My position was, is, and based on available information today always will be that the government imposed lockdowns were an economic disaster.
I did notice how none of you lockdown geniuses bothered reply to my post with any plan of how the $36K borrowed by the USG in the “name” of Covid relief will be repaid.
Europe as a whole has a population of more than 2x the US.
I guess we could constrain it just to the EU.

And as I always point out, if you have a specific claim that you want me to address that I made on schools, please provide it and I will address it.
Can't open your links; can you post the URL's?
Can you explain to us why it's not useful to compare Sweden, Norway and Finland again? I know you had some reason for it a while back, but I've forgotten what it was.

Go find it. Not my job to do it.
did this work?
Wow, this pandemic started in August 2020?
The US seems to track the EU, South America, and Asia pretty tightly.
Only when I introduced Africa, did we get an outlier (Africa waaaayyyy below).
Did Africa shut down???
^^^btw, relative to population, and UK--stringently shut down, a damn island, and way smaller that the US--surpasses us!
(fun little toy, btw...).
