That one's taken. EVERY governmental agency should encourage people to register and vote. I understand that runs contrary to MAGA's suppress the vote policies. The last thing MAGA wants is large voter turnout.

It's rather obvious that Reagan acted unilaterally as did Eisenhower when he withheld aid to Israel in 1956 as part of his policy to force Israel along with the UK and France to withdraw from the Sinai peninsula. Reagan essentially delayed aid as Biden is doing now (and I have mixed feelings regarding the decision). An actual cutoff would require the consent of Congress, delivering aid at a later date would not.

That a governmental agency should not be used for political purposes that scream governmental abuse. Last I looked, taxpayers of all stripes are having their tax money spent on something the agency wasn't created for and has the effect of likely supporting the party in power.
