I think it is unfair to lop Japan in with Russia and China but they have their own rating on the Migrant Immigration Index:

Saw a survey awhile back that had Japanese preferring to be cared for, in hospitals, by robots than non-Japanese.

For me, it’s their masking fetish that makes them icky.

I've been seeing a noticeable uptick in CNN stories that are essentially passive aggressive Biden hit pieces. So it does feel like they are laying the groundwork for the substitute teacher to step in.

Knowing the Dems, they will screw the pooch with someone like Newsom, instead of putting someone more moderate in there. So, outcome will likely be the same.

I mean, he is right. Those countries, including Japan, are experiencing demographic crises and aren't willing to allow free markets to solve it via immigration due to xenophobia. It should be noted that the anti-immigrant right in the US agrees with that policy for largely the same reasons.

Except that while Japan is basically not allowing anyone into the country club, China and Russia will proactively scrub the unacceptable from the face of the Earth even if they have to go to another country to do it. Biden should de facto apologize to Japan by clarifying that he should have more accurately called China and Russia ethnostate cleansers, not the much more mundane term xenophobic.

China and Russia are lightweights on ethnostate cleansing.

I am actually impressed you would admit they are indeed in the club.

I agree that China and Russia engage in abuses of humanity. Japan does not. I interpreted his comment more on a specific issue around immigration policy. It is definitely not true to suggest that all three countries are the same on all dimensions.

In the same way that I’m in the club, with the likes of Brady and Mahomes, for throwing a picture perfect TD pass … that was dropped … in highschool.

Dont worry, their right-wing nationalist party keeps trying to amend their constitution to allow the JDF to be more like the Russian/Chinese military, Maybe Abe getting capped will slow that down.

Biden wasn't wrong although he should have never made the statement at an event in which there was even the remote possibility that he could be recorded. Japan does in fact have a very long history of discouraging immigration.
Although this paper was written almost 10 years ago it describes the historic background of Japan's very restrictive immigration policy and although xenophobia is being embraced by followers of the defeated former president immigration has and continues to play a large role in the economic success of the US.

Violent crime is low in those" xenophobic" countries... they don't know what they're missing with our kind of "diversity." Or, maybe they do...

Diversity is overrated, and those 3 countries know it.

You realize that the murder rate in Russia has been substantially higher than in the US for most of its post-Soviet existence, right?

But perhaps you could further expound on how terrible having people from different ethnic backgrounds is.
