It was clear that Biden was no longer up to the job. That leads me to ask how many decisions were actually made by him versus his senior staff. There also is reporting that the Biden senior staffers were the ones talking Harris down in the press, which was aimed at keeping Biden at the top of the ticket. So we have senior staff likely making decisions for an impaired POTUS and actively working to make sure there is no call to replace him with the VPOTUS.

Would much rather had Harris as POTUS versus that situation.

 

Come on. WAY too many posts attacking on a personal level. Perhaps “should I say shuffle out to the stage” is a bit harsh? We can all agree Biden exhibited many signs of deterioration the last few years without seeming to revel in it. Too bad some are unable to admit to frailties and such of Mr. Trump.

 

I have never given Biden a pass for his track record of misgivings. I don't defend Biden on most things but you are seen as a "hater" based on your condescending use of the name "Joey " in some pseudo witty snark at the man. You seemingly missed my point - some “libbies” can admit to Biden’s issues and how those around him enabled. Can a single “MAGA” admit the same about Captain Covfefe and band of “warriors?”

We all knew Biden was old. His administration was competent. He never exhibited a reality break that we see constantly in Trump. In the debate was the first time he looked lost in public. He was replaced.

The right wing did so much fake news on Biden’s mental health that his slip up in the debate doesn’t validate it. I remember the air handshake you guys made a big deal out of because his speech was great and the handshake was a joke to the college student who was supposed to be there. I remember the big deal that was made out of him slipping up and saying China instead of Canada and immediately correct - unlike Tim Apple mistakes.

Biden was old and shouldn’t have run again. But he wasn’t detached from reality and he followed law and precedent.

 

Biden looked lost and showed signs of mental decline through out the last two years of his Admin. Biden's staff hide him from the public in failed effort to keep it secret. They had an Easter Bunny pull him away from reporters. SNL did a skit about it. The WSJ was attacked for doing an article about it last February. Even now books are coming out that are going into detail about how bad it was.

 

Bottom line: in 2020 the DNC presented a number of younger and more energetic alternatives to Biden, but Democrats chose Biden.

Then those same Democrats were outraged and panicked when Biden expressed his intentions to run again in 2024.
