rian Flores was there, standing mere yards away, when Florida tight end Kyle Pitts put up staggering numbers Wednesday.

    An 83 3/8-inch wingspan?

    A 6-foot-5, 245-pound man running the 40 in 4.44 seconds?

Those are the kind of numbers that would have jumped out even if Flores was behind his desk in Davie. But since Flores was in Gainesville, collecting ideas for his No. 6 overall draft pick … yes, they talked ... and ...

Dolphins see Gators TE Kyle Pitts post massive wingspan, quick 40 time

Cowboys 2021 draft: Tight end prospect Kyle Pitts puts on dominant performance at Pro Day

Are you a fan of Kyle Pitts? If so, you’ll love to hear that the best tight end prospect since Vernon Davis posted some pretty freaky numbers at the University of Florida pro day. There has been plenty of debate about what the Cowboys should do if Pitts is available at pick #10. Even though they have defensive needs everywhere, if Pitts is the best player available, should they take him?

When turning on Kyle Pitts tape, the word “freak” doesn’t really do him justice. He’s practically a 6-6, 250-lb receiver playing tight end, and that’s pretty much what his pro day confirmed.

Before kicking off his testing, Pitts measured in at 6’5 5/8”, 245-lbs with an insane 83 3/8” wingspan, and 10 5/8” hands. After weighing in like an alien, Pitts also tested like one. In his two attempts, Pitts ran a 4.44u and a 4.46u 40-yard dash. Along with his route-running ability, silky smooth hands, elite size, and now proven elite-athleticism, it would be incredible to see Kyle Pitts added to this already loaded Cowboys offense.

Former Gators TE Kyle Pitts Is on His Journey To Be the 'Best To Ever Do It'

The NFL is calling Kyle Pitts' name and he certainty answered that call during his Pro Day on Wednesday, his last moment as a Florida Gators tight end.

o say that the Gators' Pro Day went well for former Florida tight end Kyle Pitts would be a gross understatement. He excelled in all areas and he proved - yet again -, that he is the best tight end in this draft class.

Some, including NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah and ESPN's Mel Kiper, even have him as the second-best player in the 2021 NFL Draft, period. That much was earned.

Ultimately, Pitts' goal is to become the best to ever do it, and he's well on his way to proving that as he inches himself into the NFL, set to be drafted in less than a month on April 29. Now, the question is, how?

Pitts puts on show, says he will be best TE ever

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- There was no shortage of Kyle Pitts highlights at the Florida Gators pro day Wednesday, from his measurables to his moves to even his mindset.

Pitts put on a show, even before he stepped on the field to catch passes from quarterback Kyle Trask for maybe the last time. His 83⅜-inch wingspan was more than impressive, even by NFL standards. The 6-foot-6 and 245-pound Philadelphia native also had a 33½-inch vertical, recorded 10 feet, 9 inches in the broad jump and managed 22 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press.

Pitts later covered the 40-yard dash in an unofficial time of 4.44 seconds, not far off tight end Vernon Davis' combine watershed mark (4.38) set in 2006. He ended the day running routes for Trask and then raised some eyebrows while sharing his No. 1 goal.

He won't turn 21 until October. He still can add much more speed, strength, and agility. Men peak around 25 years old in that regard. I'm excited to see him play in the NFL.

Yeah, I think the Fins screwed the pooch when they went from 3 to 6. All I want is for Pitts to be a Fin but now I think Atlanta or Cincy will take him first. I'll take Chase but wonder for years what could have been.

Hope he doesn't go to the Bungles. That would be a shame.

All kinds of accolades, praise, and potential for him on both ESPN's First Take and Around the Horn.

Fins outsmarted themselves. Dropped 3 spots for a 2023 first round pick. Now they won’t get Pitts or Chase and will probably reach for another receiver that would have been available at 12.

I thought this was hilarious. Even though they slobbered all over him they made time to say that Kyle had too many drops while at uf....iirc he didn’t have a single drop last season. That’s not even lazy reporting , it’s flat out inaccurate

So happy for him. There’ll be a run on QBs so he may be the first non-QB taken.

I can’t see how atlanta lets him go past them...in a perfect world we’d grab pitts at 4 and swing back around through Gainesville and snag trask in 3rd if possible. I still think a very smart coach like payton or someone like him gets trask and molds him into a star

One thing I’d like to see Pitts do on Sundays is abuse the snot out of Jalen Ramsey

Any thoughts on Toney after his Pro Day performance? I knew he was quick but wouldn't have guessed he would run a 4.39. That broad jump was insane. No way he goes in the first round but nor can I see him lasting past the second.
