What could be even more damaging to Bernie than what he said about Castro over 30 years ago are his much more recent statements on the Chavez/Maduro regime of Venezuela. On Venezuela, Bernie Sanders has a lot more explaining to do I tend to disagree, but I do think that's the way the Trump campaign will portray Sanders and they will probably be successful. I also think that this may be the first presidential campaign in which a significant percentage of the party's down ballot candidates separate themselves from the party's presidential nominee assuming it is Sanders. A significant number may also disavow parts of the party's platform which would include Medicare for All single payer health insurance, free tuition at 4-year public universities regardless of a student's ability to pay and across the board forgiveness of student loans, all which will be planks in the platform if Bernie is the nominee. .
