What fanfare are you talking about? Some random podcast that was linked? That's fanfare? I'v seen virtually nothing about the hire.

"You hire someone with chops for this".......what exactly is this? Do you even know what his exact role is with UF? Again, this is a secondary role. And yes, pretty much everyone/everything gets announced on social media. Go to the recruiting board.......where kids make a social media announcement that they will have an annuncement next week of their top 20 schools.

Wait, you think an interview on some site no one has heard of is fanfare? Lol

And again, he is in a minor role focusing on other sports nil. This is much ado about nothing

No rebuttal from me that era has destroyed college football. My issue is every other high power school D-1 school has managed to avoid the fate of what just transpired with us. Everyone. Even Miami with the Cormani / Ruiz / recruiting Shenanigans. They all didn't fall trap to this. Sorry if I come across as a cynic. I hope the guy is great.

Ben Chase was hired to help advise players on how to build their personal brand and not make fools of themselves. Some of you folks apparently think he's supposed to be the bag man or something.

Sounds like an open minded guy. I am sure the athletes like his knowledge to help them prosper. We are on the bleeding age of learning an effective NIL strategy and as success comes more players will like to get on the Orange and Blue Gator Collective bus. As for Lawyers within the collective, we need heavy hitters/influencers that can lobby the state of Florida to help to find fair ways to get the players in the schools and not just getting them to sign contracts until they are in school. Right now, every Bigtime D1 school is talking about how much money we will get you. Nobody investigated the two offers to the QB at North Carolina, who the schools were, and the tampering that is going on with kids at other schools. It is the wild Wild West. We need high power lawyers to influence the laws regarding these new problems of just pay for play. It would help if the SEC office would set some guidelines on tampering and anyone signing contracts before they are in school. These kids don’t even know what a sign a contract means and they don’t read, they just ask how much and when. I am sure Alabama and Georgia don’t want to help with this because of their recruiting mafias they have that are institutional. What’s that you say LSU? Yes the rules need to be changed to be fair to the athletes and all schools and penalties for all schools tampering and negotiating with the athletes before they are even in school. Miami and Texas A&M set it in motion last year, and we stumble along trying to figure out how to align our needs with with providing opportunities. You don’t learn without mistakes, but you can get stronger also learn the ropes and be an advocate for the athletes and for all teams in the new NIL age!

Well, compared to how other programs have handled this NIL mess, Florida seems to be a total screwup from a perception standpoint. We've certainly been the poster child for how NOT to do things.

You can’t hold ‘em back and push em ahead at the same time. Either 100% forward or you have problems.

It’s pretty sad for the game that powerful lawyers are needed to play football. Probably why I don’t watch nfl much anymore. Too much bs and not enough football.

A&M doesn’t look so great either after signing the highest ranked class ever and losing all their games and the kids bailing. Miami buying a bunch of kids and they still suck. It’ll makes it’s rounds to others. UF is doing well to keep out of paying ridiculous money or being strong armed by a kid. It’ll be fine . We still gotta sign the checks but keep the kids honest too.

When you read the article on this hire, my takeaway was they hired an unemployed homeless person that lived in his van the past year as the new Director.

What exactly are the requirements for a NIL director that a law grad who is young enough to relate to these kids can't possibly possess?
