While on a recent trip to our Nation's Capitol:

Mustang Sally Article One Amber Ale - 5.5% ABV and 15 IBU
    Port City Optimal Ale - 4.9%, 15
    3 Stars Farmhouse Ale
Atlas Brew Works District Common - 5.3%, 20
    Ninkasi Helles Belles - 5.1%, 20

The top four are all based in the DC area. All are sessionable beers.

You live in the UP? Always wanted to visit but damn that's far.

Minnesota - tried to get over to the UP last summer for a vacay and some hiking. Storm blew through flooding the flat lands in upper WI; took out several bridges and prevented our excursion. Maybe later this summer.

As for visits, if you haven't, explore the north shore of Lake Superior. It's stunning.

I've heard that. Have a friend in Minneapolis who has a cabin up there.

Can't speak for beerman but it's a huge pain to drive to Delaware from DC.

That said there are a few Dogfish alehouses around the district that I used to frequent and definitely miss.

No need to visit Dogfishhead, although I will one day, as I am one of their distributors. You are correct in that they have great imaginative brews and a rock-star CEO in Sam Calagione.

Tried another Funky Buddha for the first time. More Moro, a blood orange IPA. I'm not a big IPA drinker, but I thought this was better than most I've tried.

Had the Dancing Man wheat tonight. I don't generally like wheats, but this is light, crispy, and high on the citrus spectrum. Nice

"2017 One Hitter Series" That's not subtle at all. 11.9% ABV. Whoa!

    Pinot Grigio.

    Oops, wrong thread :)

And to echo gatordavis the North Shore of Lake Superior is awesome. Used to camp up there in high school, and got a return trip when our niece graduated from University of Minnesota-Duluth.

Cracked open a bottle of Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA yesterday. ABV was 18%. Very good flavor. Definitely a sipper, lol...
