That sounds amazing and I'm not even a Porter drinker. Craft brewing is such a creative industry.

Herb and hops are first cousins.

Not right now but funnily enough, one of my favourite beers is a US beer called Backyard IPA. I have barely ever seen it over here except for one BBQ-themed restaurant chain - it's a Saugatuck (MI) Brewwing Company beer.

Is it well known over your side of the pond? I like it a lot!

Not well known. Didn't even know it was in Saugatuck. That's one more craft brewery for western Michigan, home of New Holland, Founder's and Bell's. All four of those are within an hour of each other.

Haven't traded in a long time, but took delivery of 5 fresh Pliny's for Easter. Treat to my self for abstaining during lent. That stuff amazes me every time I drink it.

Now that it's hot if I'm at an outdoor bar, it's Corona. Other than that, at home or inside where it's cool, I've been drinking Fat Tire as of late. Oh, and Brooklyn Brown. Great beer!

    Rogue Dead Guy Ale
    Brewed by
    Rogue Ales
    Newport, Oregon USA

Style: Heller Bock - Top 50
    IBU: 40 EST. CALORIES: 195 ABV: 6.5%
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Boat Days IPA from Grove Roots Brewing in Winter Haven. Tasty with a nice local citrus finish.
Have some growers here experimenting with growing hops to supply some of the central Florida brewers.

It is truly amazing, wonderful and fantastic what's happening with the American craft beer industry. They are all trying to outdo each other.
And many of them are succeeding!

Bill - thanks for retaining this post. I went across the bridge to WI today and was thinking about this post, trying to remember the beer mentioned, as it can only be bought in WI. I found the post and picked up a New Glarus variety pack. Enjoying the Spotted Cow right now. Crisp, light, summery ale. Thanks @scbeerman !
