We'll he's said, and already a common model, is we will take majority of players from portal and only look at a couple from HS. Makes sense to spend time and money on known commodities. Football headed that way but sheer numbers makes it a different deal.
We should try to add Maxime Raynaud from Stanford. 7'1 Center was their best player and if Handlogten wont be able to play much he should just redshirt. Raynaud might have 2 years left? Hes more established then Micah
Just curious…. You make that statement, but don’t offer anything to substantiate it. Are you on the board of FV? Do you have examples where someone told us they weren’t coming because they weren’t offered enough money?
I won't hate is as much if we can retain our talent AND CTG hits it out of the park again on the portal front We really "only" need a great PG and PF...we should be much more plug and play than we were last year, finding someone even close to ZP is key...a Samuel replacement would be great but maybe not as important, especially if we see sophomore jumps in Condor and Hawk...and the German Consonant contributes
Sorry, came from posts on x from someone involved in Florida Victorious. He used to post here & I had the feeling there was a rift, so I wasn't sure how people would feel about linking it.
No one will ever confuse Brockway for an insightful basketball mind. Our fg efficiency defense wasn’t that bad at all. Not great, but not bad. We fouled entirely too much, especially our bigs. That was the rap on Handlogten coming in, and it is usually the case with freshmen bigs like Condon and Haugh. I also suspect most good rebounding teams have a similar problem, but especially on the offensive end. That led to way too many free throws at the other end, and that was so often our undoing. More experience will help. Maybe a more fluid defender at the four who can stay in front on switches. Or a better drop defender at the 5 who can keep proper depth.
Agreed. Kenpom had us at 95th in defensive efficiency. Not terrible, but definitely some room for improvement.
