There is a little chatter out there about the Belmont point guard. Richard didn't play with him, but there's still a connection. His stats and skill set definitely fit what we want: high usage rate, efficient shooter from 2, 3 and the line, creates turnovers.
ZP was highly rated before coming, but no one could have predicted the historically elite 5th year of his. Career highs in: 3 pt %, FT %, TO, and Assists....2nd highest PPG of his career....all while jumping up in competition. So, we just don't know if there is a PG out there that can take that leap....That's too hard to predict.
Yeah, what happened to Miami hoops this year? They were 15-5 in the ACC last year and 6-14 this year.
Ja'kobi Gillespie. I just took a look at his profile and stats and he looks like he'd be ready for the SEC. https://247sports.com/college/monmo...ortal-jakobi-gillespie-belmont-228370213/amp/
Jordan Dercack at Merrimack College just entered the portal. I commented after our game with them that if I were CTG, I'd hand the kid a business card after the game.
Bio: " Finished the season with 356 points (10.8), 299 rebounds (9.1), 70 blocks (2.1) and 59 assists (1.8)... shot 55.0% FG (149-271), 26.9% 3PT (14-52) and 48.4% FT (44-91)"
Why? Looked his stats for that game and not impressive (5-11 FG, 0-3 3pt, 4-6 FT in 31 minutes 14 points).
Yeah and honestly I see the TP as the most likely way we return to same level as a team or better next year, as well as the most likely route to sustaining success until TG can build up his "brand" in HS recruiting.
Coaching change. Stanford's leading scorer Maxime Raynaud enters name into the transfer portal - Sports Illustrated All Cardinal News, Analysis and More
Below average assist/turnover & 3P%. Above average 2P% & rebounds. Average FT%. Seems there may be better options.
