He was a tall drink of water on the mound. Pitched for the White Sox. OK in MLB but better as a basketball player. Kind of like Jordan, but not as good at basketball and better at baseball.

    This tells you many things.

First of all it tells you how pitcher friendly Comiskey Park was.

Secondly it tells you how awful the White Sox were for decades and decades.

Lastly it tells you how awesome Fisk was.

When I was following Nellie and Luis, Sherm and Landis homeruns were not part of their repertoire but I liked them and collected all their Topps cards, probably 56 thru 61 or so

The White Sox back then were way ahead of the curve with pitching, speed, and defense as the way they played the game when other teams were all about the long ball, but they were not quite good enough. I learned a lot about the game watching them play. I learned that there is more than one way to play the game and be good and you did not have to try to be the Yankees because trying to be them you would always be behind the curve.

The Dodgers eventually took that idea and had the pitchers that could take their bats and shove them where the sun did not shine. I loved the 1963 World Series.

Added in edit: As a Chicago Southsider until later in life I hate both the Cubs and the Yankees. Probably in that order, but it is close. Ruth at Wrigley calling his shot should have ended in a meteor strike.
