    Newk didn't take kindly to batters who tried to take away the inside part of the plate, I remember more than a few hitters starting to rush the mound after a 'purpose pitch' and most (the smart ones) reconsidering after a step or 2

    I cannot believe you wrote that Dizzy made mistakes. He just said some things that just weren't exactly right. :)

    He and Pee Wee were a great broadcast team from back in the days when the television audience was lucky to see more than one game a week. Dizzy was as much a comedic relief as a good analyst (before that word was in the lexicon of normal people).
