Great opportunity for the Gators this week. We will absolutely be ranked if we win these next two games.

Our guys are #35 this week with Arkansas one spot behind. FSU all the way up to #5 this week with Kentucky and Auburn dropping to #15 and #16 respectively.

Curious what folks on the board think is the more important game to win, if you could only win one. I'm leaning towards the Baylor game in terms of resume and tournament seeding but this team has a legit shot at winning the SEC if they can beat LSU on the road. Tough choice.

LSU on the road is a great win - also not a bad loss, at all. Could almost be “expected”. Beating Baylor would be seismic, though! That gets you national attention!

Conference wins are almost always the more important. Not this time, though. A win over Baylor would be huge, not just for the Gators, but for the SEC.

It's been Baylor all along since we pissed away the rest of our OOC schedule. How many times has UF beaten the #1 ranked team in our program's history? This is not a rhetorical question. I don't know the answer, but cant imagine it's been more than once or twice. The opportunity just doesn't present itself very often.

Beating LSU on a Tuesday night in a watered down SEC doesn't move the needle nationally. Beating Baylor does. Besides, we get LSU at home next month. A loss tomorrow doesn't hurt us too much in SEC race.

Interestingly, ESPN’s BPI currently has us losing to LSU but beating Baylor.

I tend to agree. Road wins are really difficult to pull off against good teams. It should be a great crowd Saturday night and team will be pumped. Baylor certainly isn't accustomed to the spotlight that comes with #1 ranking.

42-39 Baylor with 13 minutes left. Oklahoma on a bit of a run in the 2nd run and hanging with them....so far

Baylor is a bigger win, even if they lose to Okla tonight

Agree Baylor is bigger, but I'd rather beat that cheater from lsu. Still can't believe neither Wade or lsu were sanctioned.

I don't know the answer either, but two occasions come to mind. One was in 2000, when we beat #1 Duke in the Sweet 16. In 2008, we beat #1 Ohio State in the National Championship game (although we were the overall #1 seed).

    Excellent argument!
After we eliminated LSU from the SEC tournament last year, I posted, "You're welcome, America." LSU deserves constant, unrelenting humiliation.

Obviously point spreads have no impact on outcomes of games, but money has been on LSU. Point spread opened as Gators +2 and is now Gators +3. Hopefully we make these betters lose and the Gators win outright. Huge game tonight. Go Gators! Keep that momentum going.

The last time Florida might have defeated the #1 basketball team could be 1998 Kentucky in Lexington by the one led by Jason Williams. Also, perhaps the 2000 UF NCAA Tourney team against #1 overall seed Duke (neutral location).(Note: That 1998 Kentucky team was actually #7; however, the wildcats would win the national title under Tubby Smith.)

I am not sure if Florida had ever defeated a #1 team in Gainesville.

Some pundits have mentioned that the 2020 basketball season has matched the 1983 season with seven different teams becoming #1. There has not been a clear cut #1 team this season.

Nonetheless, I think based on how Florida is playing lately and also their stellar home record, the Gators have a great shot at taking down #1 Baylor later this week.
