Kevin Love is out as well.

Javale McGee and Keldon Johnson added as replacements.

I can understand McGee. The team does not seem well thought out, and McGee is the kind of guy who is not going to worry about touches, but will do the dirty work of protecting the rim. No 3-second rule, no goaltending. Love is not really a big defender, and outside Adebayo that was lacking. I know McGee is a "Shaqtin-the-Fool" journeyman, but he could turn out to be a really good role player.

But I don't understand Johnson. Kind of...underwhelming. And considering that Trae Young reporetdly asked to be put on the team and was turned down...what? With a shorter 3-point line perimeter shooters will be at a premium. Not to mention quick PGs. Devin Booker and Jrue Holiday will be coming in exhausted, why not pick a guy who was red-hot through the playoffs and has a couple weeks rest? Not to mention a deadly shooter from any range.

I was also considering Keldon Johnson to be an underwhelming addition, but he was strong against Spain.
