Another must win. But I am starting to think it doesn't matter. I see no way with our pitching to take two games from Kentucky or Ga.
I think we can take 2 from Kentucky at home but we'll need some breaks. UGA on the road will be tough. And for the love of God, don't give Condon anything within a foot of the strike zone. I don't care if the bases are empty or the bases are loaded.
I watched part of two of their games vs the Dores this past weekend. Condon was dang sure putting the big part of the barrel on the ball. He went yard on a belt high curveball. And he hit a just below the knees FB on a line that bounced off the LCF fence. Both were vs RHP.
NCAA Tournament bubble: Will Florida recover from disastrous inning, deflating Tennessee loss? Bubble-wise, nothing’s changed. Florida still needs to finish above .500 (adding to the importance of the USF game) and find 3 more SEC wins. Hosting Kentucky, currently tied for the SEC lead at 17-6 in conference contests, in Gainesville will be challenging. Georgia, who will host Florida for the final series of the regular season, is on a 4-game winning streak and up to 34-12 overall and 12-11 in SEC play. As O’Sullivan said, Florida can hold its own with any team. Winning the SEC-opening series over Texas A&M showed that. More recently, it was on display in the Arkansas and Tennessee series.
If they win tonight the Gators will be up 2 from 500. I think we win 1 from both Ky and GA. putting us down 1 going into the tournament. That means we have to win at least 2 games at the tournament. I think Florida is waiting to see how we fare against Ky and add 2 games if we only win one or none.
Agree - There won't be any games added to the schedule. Way too late for that. Simple solution - Win, baby, win!!!
That same article on gatorswire.usatoday.com also says the game starts at 4 pm. I haven't seen anything about a time change, so maybe they got the starting pitcher wrong as well.
If Peterson is pitching and it starts at 4 I am watching from home. Personally I would like to see Coppola, Peterson and Cags start on the weekend and Neely get back to what he does best and what he probably will do as a pro: close games.
UCF author; the bio says it all: Both UF and USF twitter feeds have the game at 6:30 PM tonight. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I hate to say it, but the lax, losing-is-OK attitude for midweek games, which became obvious earlier in the season, carries over to the SEC weekend games that count. Maybe Sully has learned that lesson. I hope so. Midweek games are not exhibition games to try out stuff.
I don't think this is true. We were 3-1 in SEC series coming off of a midweek loss. We were 0-4 in SEC series coming off a midweek win. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
