any idea who might be our starting pitcher? I know it is a mid-week game, but it is an undefeated F$U squad

Since he wasn't needed Sunday, might Neely toss a few innings?

 

I kind of wondered that too....maybe try and get him straightened out with a 2-3 inning start?

 

I'm willing to bet that the starter WON'T be Mcnellie

I suggested that to a friend at the ballpark yesterday. Start Neely Tuesday night -- with a clean slate, on a 55-60 pitch count and if he can go 3 or 4-- and get his mojo back a huge plus and then consider him in the mix for weekend SP slot- in the coming weeks. As Sully said in his post game comments-- it all starts on the mound, SP sets the tone for the entire game and takes pressure off the hitters.

I think that is really a great idea. I would love to see him come in on a clean slate, bases empty. Usually it is bases loaded in a critical situation. I think he could be dominant.

 

Evidently from their fast start they must be swinging the bat ok—that said—regardless of who’s on the mound our guys are going to have to pitch and pitch to spots—not just throw to the heart of the plate.

Everyone should know this. Starting Neely may be what he needs and what the pitching staff needs. If Sully does make this his call we will hope for the best and see how it plays out.

Hoping Neely. Heard it may be but was not from a great source. If it comes true, we will change that to reliable source haha.

I love to see this, and I think it actually makes a lot of sense as it would be a great opportunity to build Neely’s confidence back and also give us a great shot to win a pretty important game actually. This is not your normal midweek game, obviously.
