Exactly. This staff just isn’t going to go from terrible to great because they are a year older. Sully HAS to find some new arms via transfer or JC.

I agree with you in theory. Focus is to get to winners bracket and pray so I start Pogue then Leftwich. If that happens, then you go from there. The trick is to not burn up Butler and others in the next two games.

If you would have told me we would score 8 runs in this game, I would have said that is a win.

Don’t disagree just think Sully Burns 1-2 tomorrow that we will need later.
Yes, we could struggle w Army. Shouldn’t but might.

    I’d add a name:
    Blasucci-good for 2-3 innings.

I think we would probably be in the same situation (as long as we beat Army) as we would if we won this game: playing Dallas Baptist again for the rights to play Tech.

Just depends on what the pitching situation looks like at that point.

I actually think UF does have to throw Dyson or someone not named Leftwich/Pogue against Army. Then as you state, Leftwich early on Sunday = Advantage Gators. Pogue Sunday night = push. Mace on Monday might = Advantage Gators.

Does it really matter? Dallas Baptist pounded our butts early, middle and late......Dallas Baptist......jfc....

How the hell did we get so bad so fast? No hit, no field, no pitch.....the catching and SS play has been a prime indicator all year.

Agreed, said it all along. Tyler is X factor. May have best stuff of any pitcher at regional. Why not pitch him. Win today and we still have Tommie and Dyson but Sully has to pitch him.

You got me APK. Obviously big Dyson guy. Trying to take glasses off and hoping TD can rekindle some 2017 magic.

    I agree.

We have a lot of great freshman arms but a dearth of great freshmen pitchers. At times Crisp has shown me flashes of knowing how to pitch. There is a huge difference between throwing and pitching.

Dyson knows how to pitch when he is dialed in as we saw on 2017. It is just a matter of getting that magic back. Inconsistent mechanics is a huge problem. He is the equivalent of the streaky shooter in basketball.

I am kind of glad that Leftwich was on the bump, but I would have loved to see you out there.

Faedo was very, very good as a FR. But Singer is case and point for growth over time. This year, you didn’t see Mace or Leftwich make that move. Leftwich apparently was injured for a fair amount. Dyson never made that progress from FR-JR seasons. Butler doesn’t seem to have made that progress yet.

That said, if 2-3 of these FR arms do make the FR-Soph jump, UF could be very good next year. If they don’t, might be another long year.

I have a Captain K tee shirt from Faedo's freshman season.

It was a midweek game and nobody was out in the left field seats.

I went out there and was asked to be Captain K and I got the tee shirt.

We lost and Alex was not very good that night and I don't wear the tee shirt on game days.

Amusing. You are too sharp to be superstitious when you aren’t even playing!!!

He went into the weekend rotation by late April and was very good once there.
