Sure is nice to see this thread up! Good to be playing! Marked it to the regionals!

Gators have been playing some pretty good ball lately. No quitting; competing. Let’s hope we continue on that vector of improved play. Now is the time!

Still have some flaws that haven’t been remedied completely. Sometimes it’s pitching ( starter or relief); sometime it’s hitting; sometimes it’s fielding. But,... Gators have also been quite good, at times, in each of those aspects, at different times, too. If we can get all of those aspects functioning well for a game - we can be quite dangerous.

 

Anyone else think it is strange that the host team is playing during a workday afternoon and two out of town teams have the Friday evening game?

 

Gives them a full days rest for Saturday, win or lose. Only advantage I can think of.

I’d rather play in front of a big crowd in the cooler evening personally.

 

I agree that it is strange but I am pretty sure we did it last year - played Columbia at noon while the other two teams played Friday night.

 

Noticed that earlier. Love it! Seemed like that happend to us a couple times but I could be wrong

 

Unsurprisingly Mace gets the start for the Gators.

 

That was to avoid rain delays.

Looking at the long term forecast for Lubbock it might be for the same reason. Get an early game in without rain and let the suckers playing the later game deal with rain and lightning delays.

Anybody know how many good and reliable arms Dallas Baptist has in their pen? We have a ton of good ones, but the reliability factor is not high.

 

So why can't I buy one at the Mac?

 

I thought briefly about making the trek out to Lubbock and I could have had free housing.

My wife's uncle is a retired chaired prof at Texas Tech in petroleum geology. He is a cool guy that I am sure doesn't know that Texas Tech is hosting. He didn't know that Texas Tech was in the Final Four this spring. And this is not dementia. He just doesn't care about spectator sports.

 

And yet he lives in Lubbock? What does he do?

Says someone who was born in Lubbock.

 

He used to live in Canyon. Lubbock is a step up except for being able to go to Palo Duro canyon.

 

Can u believe there are people out there who don’t care about sports?
