Listed to the D1 discussion of the 13-17 teams: 1. They all seemed to agree that Alabama was safe and has the strongest case of the 13-17 teams. They put everyone else on the bubble and put them in for now but at risk of bid stealers. 2. Kendall Rogers has been saying all along that if Florida gets above .500 they are in - today he seemed to have totally changed his tune and didn't think Florida had a strong case compared to the others. Other panelists made the argument that the metrics would be tough to ignore as well as big series wins over A&M, Georgia, MState. 3. LSU strong point was they finished the "back 9" very strong and, of course, are defending champions. Florida and South Carolina were the opposite. 4. Seemed to think Vandy had the weakest case at this point - this is a concern because if they beat us that would be 3 out of 4 against us and it would be tough to justify us over Vandy if it came to that. (Vandy-UF could be an elimination game of sorts). Would feel a whole lot better if we won a couple in Hoover.

I thought since the seedings came out Sunday, we'd need to beat Vandy in Hoover to get a 'lock" on post-season. The D1 pundits' banter says alot about who is in or out and both teams appear to be on-the-bubble. Need the W and that would mean a three-game winning streak and if memory serves, we've not won three straight since the Columbia series the second week of the season. Now is the time Gators. Any takers on starting Neely? He was outstanding in Athens. Or hope to get into middle innings in a close game and then let him close the last 4 innings? Tough call.
SEC announces significant rule change ahead of baseball tournament Thought this was worth posting here
Interesting about LSU. Would think they would have a tough argument considering they lost every series they played against other SEC bubble teams and 2 of those 3 were in Baton Rouge.
Let's hope that is true. And hopefully no stealers pop in to the equation. I would love to attend some games in Omaha this year!! And we have to get in for the magic to happen!
I think and have thought we are in after a very impressive finish at Georgia, but I’d like to see us beat Vandy. Hoping I’m wrong but was thinking Clemente after throwing only 12 pitches or someone else as I’m just a little worried about Coppola. This is still a very, very big game and should be treated as such. Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Jake and others. Be ready to go if Coppola gets into any trouble at all in the first inning.
Just curious, but why does Bama have the best case? They certainly didn't finish strong losing 2 of 3 to Auburn.. I know they have had a higher RPI all year, but don't see any big out of conference wins unless u count Troy. And LSU finished strong because they played ole Miss and a fading Bama. To me they have by far the weakest case not that I get a vote.
Georgia with nothing to gain and LSU with everything to gain which is always the problem with this tourney and why I never put much stock in the results. Not to mention the screwed up pitching rotations necessary. That said, hoping Gators find a way to beat Vandy.
