    Here's the bracket:

2024 SEC Baseball Tournament Bracket - Southeastern Conference

    Tuesday games (EDT):
10:30 am - GA vs LSU (stats) - LSU 9-1
2:30 pm - AL vs SC (stats) - SC 10-5
6:00 pm - FL vs Vandy (stats) - cheatin dores 6-0
9:30 pm - State vs. Ole Miss (stats)

As you well know, due to weather it's highly unlikely all 4 games are finished the first day.

There will be a separate game thread for our Tues game.

Those times are approximate especially for games 3 and 4 given weather delays and length of games. I'd be surprised if the Gators start time is before 6:30 EDT.
What's the panel's consensus on SP?

Was hoping Clemente when it looked like we wouldn't have to use him yesterday but that didn't work out. If I had to guess - Cade Fisher.

So here we are. What do you think it takes to make the NCAA tournament?
Which would be better, losing 1 or winning 1 and losing 2?
I can't see us not getting a bid getting 2 wins as our name and SOS carries strength, but definitely not guaranteed.
3 wins has to be a lock IMO.

I think sp will be that guy who’s been anywhere from pretty good to downright awful in their different outings this year.

The concern I have is that there are 5 SEC teams with 13 wins and I don't think they are all getting in. The 14th win seems huge as a differentiator within the conference then the other metrics will take care of the rest.

Gotta win and win again. Had we run-ruled UGA yesterday on the road we would have gained some "style points." But we blew two opportunities... that was wining ugly. Anyone watching the game would have doubts. That said, our SoS is #1 and RPI 24 is not bad but 8 SEC teams ahead of us in RPI. It's close call so gotta win. I was surprised Sean Kelley on the radio was confident that the win secured a post-season bid. Dunno. Just keep winning as many as you can to lock it in.

SOS is a big differentiator and past success does sometimes sway coin flips.

Going 2-2 makes a strong argument. No style points in baseball IMO. Will a Tuesday game with mid week pitchers be viewed like a critical Sunday type game is?

Id say Gators are in given the schedule played, i.e. played the top 3 teams on both sides of the SEC. . Still beating Vandy and getting an LSU loss would seal the deal. ..

Still can't believe we lost 3 1 run games at Mizzou. o_O

Make no mistake about it—winning the series @ UGA was just one rung of the ladder that we put ourselves in the position of having to climb.

We’ve been successful there and a tip of the cap to our players and coaches alike. Personally I feel like we have to win no less than two games in the SECT. We win three and the invitation will be printed on quality paper.

People remember longest the last thing they see you do.

Work to do, let’s get to work Gators!

We have to be conscious of the bid stealers---like a Ga Tech or UCF winning a conference tourney and lowering the number of at large bids. Everything needs to run to seed to help us.

If we beat Vandy then we play Tennessee? That sounds like fun.

Us actually winning a few games surely won’t hurt anything either.

Maybe, but Clemente only threw something like 30 pitches yesterday didn’t he? Should easily be able to go again on Tuesday in the evening

Miracles do happen but honestly, honestly with our schedule and the way we finished I’d be shocked if we are not in

One would think so. There are 10 members on the committee and only 2 are from the P5's. The chair is John Cohen from Auburn--so that should help--but this is the NCAA and when was the last time they were totally sensible.

Agree with you @iowagator but the NCAA has been toothless since they opened the door for the transfer portal and NIL $$$…..

Agreed--and that hasn't changed their non-sensical decisions on things like tourneys! We don't have to look farther than the lacrosse tourney to see their issues lol
