Gators travel to Tampa for the first of two scheduled meetings with the Bulls. I'm including the link to Bullsvision (really?), but don't know if it's free or not. Too bad I can't make it down there as they sell beer at the stadium. Oh well, I'll be posting at home (where I also have beer) from the radio broadcast.

Bulls play in the American Athletic Conf. They finished 2018 with an RPI of 18 and #9 SOS. 2019 opening weekend they hosted Samford and took 2 of 3.

    TV: USF Baseball vs. Florida
    Radio: 98.1FM / 850 AM
    Stats: SIDEARMLiveStats
Weather: 80 at the start 73 at the finish. 50% chance of precip for the first hour, dropping to 10%. Wind E @ 6 = blowing in from right field.

Starting Gator - not announced yet

    Go Gators!

Going to be a tough one. USF is a solid team and in starting six seniors in their lineup, might be one of the oldest teams in the country. To compare, UF has only three SRs on their roster and with Reese’s injury, will start only one (along with four freshmen).

With all the youth on the roster and the target on their backs, weekday games are going to be a battle on many nights this season.

    sting—

Point well made—Any team playing “up” in midweek games has those games highlighted from the time that they receive their schedule—

Everybody wants to come after the big dog—the big dog needs to have the everyday mindset of “careful what you ask for”—

A win over USF might be better than beating Miami, ha! Lol

Just think guys & gals—if it were UCF instead of USF, we would get to be playing for the NC instead of having to wait until JUNE—:D:D:D:D

    @Gatorgal04—

Sure will be good to have you back—it’s pretty close to work  when you’re gone—

I’m afraid that we are spoiled and take you for granted—I know following the game is a lot more fun with you than without you—:)

No doubt. Gal does a better job with pbp than any game threads for any sport on any forum I’ve ever visited.

I wonder...has Scott Stricklin contacted @Gatorgal04 to get her a special seat and set-up in the new stadium?

    She’s become an institution :)

We here on gatorcountry might consider an email campaign to SS in recognition of @Gatorgal04 ....get her set up with a shaded loge seat of her choice with hardwired Internet connection and power, etc....anything else? Good view of the Jumbotron...maybe a tv monitor too? :)

All this and then some. She needs a special seat with a pullout desk. Early access to the lineup posted would be helpful. Maybe an extra vote among umpires on replay calls would be good. Direct access to Sully's interview after the game for her own follow up notes. In Gator Country tradition it would be called "Typing as I listen". Oh and don't forget the RESERVED PARKING SPACE! Everybody loves a reserved parking space.

Bulls Host Gators for First Time Since 2015
    USF Sports Game Preview
TAMPA, FEB. 18, 2019 – The USF baseball team will look to capitalize on an early test, as it hosts No. 5 Florida for the first time since 2015.
Head coach Billy Mohl began his second season in the dugout with an impressive 7-4 win over preseason favorites in the SOCON Samford last Friday night. Junior righty Collin Sullivan (Randolph, Mass.) tossed 6.0 innings with a career high 10 strikeouts in the win. The offense was led by the two freshmen infielders, Nick Gonzalez (Tampa) and Dylan Buck (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.), who each homered in their first collegiate at-bats.

Gonzalez batted .500 (7-for-14) over the weekend with three RBI and four runs. He was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday, capping his inaugural weekend series with a 3-for-5 effort in Sunday's 4-1 win, giving USF a series victory.

Another new face, junior transfer and former Gator Austin Bodrato (Northvale, N.J.) had a big weekend as well. The 6-foot-2 outfielder began his career at Florida, then played at Santa Fe Community College before transferring to USF. Bodrato hit .667 with a homer and a double over the weekend. He went 2-for-3 with a solo shot to center in his first start as a Bull on Saturday.
