Agree with you. You play for the bigger picture. If we can’t beat UConn w Nesbitt starting we don’t deserve to move forward.

Sad, because you look at the box score and realize that even with base running gaffes, really poor AB’s, etc we still should have won. 8 guys for Tech didn’t hit much I’m hoping if we see Tech again we completely pitch around Kash.

 

According to an article I read, he hadn't had a hit in 15 at bats...so maybe the first time I get..but the second time...we should have walked him especially bottom of the 8th

 

When/who do we play next?

 

Remember Ole Miss-last year. It’s when you are playing championship baseball. Doesn't really matter what your record is. We should all know that by now. Nothing surprises this time of year. it’s a new season

 

Is Nebitt still even on the thought process? He is way down the line. Way more pitchers above him right now.

Really @shane4three? “Come on man”—I tell you what, you look past UCONN today and see what it gets you…….

 

For us to get where we need to go he will have to contribute. How many others have started and been somewhat successful? Just he and Tejeda.

 

Not looking past but feel like there has to be a plan. I’m worried like you that we come out flat against UConn and in no way am I taking them for granted. Watching them against FAMU I was not overly impressed. All I’m saying is Sully May have to take a risk pitching wise to get where we need to go. Gotta have someone eat innings today.

One thing is for sure….we are going to find out how mentally tough we are.

Neely
Abner
Nesbitt
Tejeda
So you have choices but if you throw any of the top 3 can you honestly say they can be stretched out farther than they’ve ever pitched this year and be effective? We saw what happened with Neely at 56 pitches.
We have to know others will have to be utilized if we are going to win 3 games.

 

UConn scored nine when FAMU started their ace, we scored 3 when they didn't.

It's a new day..hopefully we win 2 today..win the 1st one at 12 pm..then worry about this evening

 

That post was in response to the somewhat baffling "watching them vs FAMU and not overly impressed" comment

 

A couple quick observations:

It is OK to get base hits and line drives. Everything does not have to be a dinger.
Our Gator Boys will be good today. Uconn and TT will be throwing out 4th string pitchers so lets light 'em up on this beautiful Sunday!
Finally - Keep posting so I can check the score - I'm heading out to the hospital to see my first grand daughter enter this world. Go Gators!!!
