I know we keep talking about pitching (and rightfully so) however, where is the run support for our pitchers? Their first pitcher had an era over 5-we should have been able to get more than a run or 2 against him-

    You said it.
Conventional wisdom says Waldrep at noon tomorrow but then you’ve gotta go Cade Fisher and then Nesbitt. May save Waldrep. UConn not real good.

Our extra arm is Purnell this year. No Scott Moss the year. That is/was our missing piece.

Bases loaded in the 5th snd 1 out. Double play ball hurt bad.

Don’t think we’re in the position to make that claim.

    Fisher and Nesbitt before Purnell.

I could be wrong, but years ago South Carolina was in this situation and had to figure out how to get through the loser's bracket. They ended up having to give the ball to a nobody to try and get some solid innings. His name was Michael Roth. (I think I am remembering this correctly). We will find our Michael Roth this weekend!!

You never leave a bullet in the chamber. You pitch your best pitcher inning by inning.

We don’t. We might get to another matchup with them but we would have to outhit them and we aren’t made for that . Strange how we have shut down on offense.
We hit into the DP early with Cade then Cags ball caught preventing possibly 2 run dinger .
Then the innocent 2 out single followed by pitching to a guy who can hit as well as anyone in the country .
    Receipt for disaster.
Tech had the better team and I don’t think there is an argument

A good scenario would be to run rule them (UConn), limiting the pitching-TT should be low on pitchers too...so..
All we can do is take it one game at a time and hope for the best...

Maybe but we’ve never developed a 4th pitcher. I know gotta win the first one but also have to have pitchers to keep winning.

I know. Just frustrated we could not find consistentcy in the pen. I remember when the Dale Dunnings were coming in from the pen.

How about Cags getting put out at first cause he didn't see the ball I guess??

I have no idea what this means. The whole point is that it's someone you're not expecting to pitch well.

Is run rule a thing in post season play?

Not that it matters. Can’t run rule teams when 60% of your lineup can’t hit the ball

Not trying to be a d!ck, but you might want to rethink this one.

Roth is one of the best pitchers in the history of college baseball.
