That was Brooksian.
And here's how it all started...
One worthy video from the earlier game versus the University of Connecticut.
Maybe youngsters are not familiar with the fielding genius of Brooks Robinson.
That play was like Brooks did all the time.
state of florida is a huge market and gators = last state team playing. maybe espn will change from +, but i doubt it.
Something I don't do very often but he deserves a shout out. I must give props to @gator1977 for calling all of our attention to Cade Fisher during spring practice and even noticing him back in the fall. 77 was saying Fisher was going to be special before the season started. Even today as we started to pull away in the first game 77 started calling for Fisher to start against TT. He has been right on most everything as we watched the regionals together at the ballpark. We both have liked a few players throughout the preseason but Fisher has been all 77's. So here's an ATTA BOY to GATOR1977!!!
yoel tejeda to start followed by johnny all-staff? i would have to consider cags starting on a limited pitch count, but doubt sully will risk cags pitching arm.
This play is phenomenal... major league play.
This is... what we can achieve. Still more to prove.
Today’s noon game is going to be on espnU in addition to the minus ripoff streaming thing.
Reminiscent of freshman Tyler Dyson being called on vs Wake Forest in 2017. Shut down performance.
Since it is on ESPNU, it is a free stream on ESPN+. So, if you do not see it live or record it, it should be available to watch later for free.
High Noon in Gainesville. ALL hands on deck. What a day today for baseball.
We are getting it done today and taking this regional.
It's Great To Be A Florida Gator!!!
I remember Brooks Robinson, he was a truly great fielder and a good hitter. I maybe a little older than you, I grew up the panhandle of Florida in the early sixties, we only had a couple of stations with rabbit ears in that decade. The only major league team tv followed was the NY Yankees. They had a good third baseman named Clete Boyer. I played third base growing up and through high school. He was my inspiration in the hot corner. He sent me a picture of him, Roger Maris and Mickie Mantel in the locker room after one of the 1961 World Series games, signed. An 8” x 10” pic, which I have kept.
