Yep been thinking the same for a few games now. Didn't mind Robertson sitting for a few games but you have to get him back in the rotation more than just mop up duty. As I have been thinking the field in Omaha plays larger than the Condron and we will need Langford and Robertson to handle more than 2/3 of the field if Shelnut stays in RF. I even hope if we get a good lead we see Evans back out in RF to finish a game or two out. Robertson should start and hope for the best at the plate. Shelnut should start and bat thru the 7th and bring in Evans for his defense if ahead.

  3. Without question Robertson CF is the move and pray to God/Allah/Tebow he can find it at the plate. With all the talk of Wyatt playing CF at the next level it looks like he needs a lot of work, now is not the time for a test dummy.

Is it me or does BT Riopelle sound like he'd make a great TV baseball commentator? He's great in front of the camera.

5 hours. I thought last night's game would be perfect. 8pm start time here, get to bed around 11. At least I'll be home to watch the CWS!

Well at least you weren't in Germany 80 years ago!

Need more stories from people at the game last night. I enjoy reading “there I was” tales after epic games like this.

Yeah Robertson needs to be in the batting cages working on his bunting a hour a day. He could put so much pressure on the defense plus we will need his ability to cover ground in center. The Wyatt experiment in CF is not yet ready for prime time.

Isn't it great to be sitting here, sipping Sunday morning coffee, knowing our team is going to Omaha while a bunch of teams are trying to play themselves out of loser brackets; sweating it out?

"Honey, can I have another cup of coffee with a slice of hot coffee cake?"

Fully agree with comments-- Robertson back in CF and Wyatt in LF. Schiekofer is not giving us any more production on offense than Robertson (he left 5 OBs yesterday) so it's as a no-brainer after seeing Wyatt badly misplay a couple of balls this weekend that could have been very costly.
On yesterday's game: I've noted, since mid year that I thought Waldrep was our #1 guy on the bump and his talent was on full display- throwing FB mid to upper 90s and then the wicked splitter that was unhittable. Sproat has a few ticks more on his FB but not that splitter. That's why Waldrep is projected as a first rounder. I'm a little surprised at this stage that we've not gone with him as our top starter as we had the chance a few weeks back when the scipt was switched for a week.
The atmosphere at the ballpark both games was electric, very emotional and the crowd fully engaged and invsted.... many of us stayed to enjoy the celebration afterward- clearly the players were very appreciative of the fans and showed it. A great bunch of guys and now it's on to Omaha. I'm confident about our pitching and hope we can find our bats. Yesterday, we had a chance to break the game open early with bases loaded and then the next inning runners on 2nd and 3rd one out and only scratched out a run. Kudos to Colby for his clutch 2-run double and overall 3 RBI day! Go Gators.

Speaking of bunting….kudos to Dale Thomas for his sac bunt which led to Halter’s sac fly rbi.

Like I said, and I’ve taken some grief, for a 19 year old playing for the first time at the highest of levels, Robertson is a good center fielder.

Robertson has been solid out there after working through his issues playing balls at the fence earlier in the year. He is 4th on the team in in walks and has a .359 OBP. If he can work on the bunting he could create some havoc there as well. He is 2nd on the team in sacrifice bunts with 3 next to Halters 6.

I hope it was a bunt-take on that 1st strike as it was a perfect ball to bunt. He did get it down with 2 strikes but too bad we do not have access to Sullys blood pressure readings during certain parts of the game lol
