I think it was this: — Florida took one too many mound visits without a change on the mound, forcing it to remove closer Brandon Neely from the game.
They seemed friendly- kept chanting “How are you?, how are you?” whenever a Gator pitcher got in trouble.
Is it safe to enter the thread again? I knew we had it all along. Cindy's carriage had already turned back into a pumpkin at 10 PM EST and she ran out of time to bring it all the way home. Actually I'm still recovering and almost feel numb. Glad to see some of you are starting to get why I said winning this game is huge for the bracket. But don't forget winning Wednesday's game could be even bigger if the other side of the bracket doesn't finish it up until Thursday. It's possible we could face a team in the championship series that had to win 4 days in a row to face us on one day of rest. But we would have only played 1 game since Sunday if we win on Wednesday. Huge advantage we could get people for those who choose to study the brackets schedule. Go Gators!
The stat of the day... OR had won 7 straight games in a row while trailing by 3 runs... until we beat them.
How does Sully address the lack of production of the first 4 batters or does he? 4 for 43 probably won't cut it when we make the finals. Obviously he doesn't change the 2, 3 and 4th batters but does he make a change with the lead off? I know these guys are fully aware they are not producing and are pressing. If Sully changes our lead off who does he start? Or since we are winning, don't mess with anything and just tell the guys have fun and relax? Whatever he decides it will be the right choice.
Well tonight certainly was not the biggest win this season like Friday night's game. But we fought and gashed and struggled but we kept on playing. Wednesday we go with Caglianone and I expect some Abner and let Neely end it. It all depends if we get a lead or not. Win and we rest until Saturday. Lose and Sully has to scrape a few arms together to be ready for Thursday. Remember this, if we win the 2 PM game then it puts pressure on the other bracket that night to keep up.
One more interesting stat, according to a twitter head, so I still have to verity this later when I re-watch the replay... OP loaded the bases 3 different times and still lost to us. Oh, and that dirty azz home plate umpire was giving that side-winding pitcher clown strike calls for pitches that were 9 inches off the ground... for 3 straight innings. PLEASE TELL ME THAT SOME OF YOU NOTICED THAT TOO.
GOD works in mysterious ways... Until I saw what that umpire called strikes against us... when OR pitched that side-winding pitcher. That umpire was calling strikes against us on balls that were 9 inches off the ground for about 3 freaking innings.
There is an epidemic of bad umpiring and refereeing in sports. Since the introduction of instant replay they have gotten an attitude and want to influence the game in other ways per their own criteria. I say screw them all. Umpires and refs are like government: at their best a necessary evil. To me they can get dinged with baseballs and bat swings ad nauseum.
Time right now for the top of the lineup to get right. Take your day off and get right. No more delays, this is the endgame. We’re only the number two seed when everything is working. Cags swing hard of course, all I ask is see what you’re swinging at. See ball, hit ball. GO GATORS!
The sec strike zone our guys are used to no longer applies. Just fact, they have the talent and game IQ to adjust and they are going to have to if they want to bring home that trophy.
