Ole Miss lost Tuesday to North Alabama 6-10, so they'll be focused on Friday. Their record is 20-10 (5-4). They took 2 in the Bama series in the middle of March, then lost 2 at Mizzou. Last weekend they took 2 at Arkansas. Like us, it looks like they haven't quite found their groove yet.

They have their Spring football game this weekend I believe so the crowds will be huge. Definitely a new step for the freshmen. LSU in two weeks will be comparatively mild in my opinion. Oxford will be liquored up and ready to rock all weekend.

Someone mentioned in the last game thread these BA in conference.
    McConnell, Brady .316
    Young, Jacob .289
    Dalton, Wil .281
    Maldonado, Nelson .270
    Calilao, Kendrick .250
    Smith, Brady .231
    Langworthy, Austin .226
    Acton, Cory .200
    Fabian, Jud .179
What's amazing the only 2 that have a better average in conference than overall is Dalton and Smith. That certainly speaks to their slow starts before conference play but it puts into better focus their overall averages are not as troubling as it may seem. Hopefully they both get plenty of opportunity going forward to increase their AB.

I will be there visiting my daughter and also taking in the game. The game is sold out with decent tickets going for around $80 on secondary markets. We will also attend some of the grove bowl on Saturday with sideline passes as one of her friends works for the football team. Her other friend dates Jordan Butler, look forward to meeting him as well. Top it off with all the great food and it should be a fun weekend.

Here’s looking forward to watching a great series, of course with our Gators coming out on top—

Let’s put an SEC whipping on those Rebels—Gator style!

Not sure why there is a difference but ESPN has the SEC stats as follows:
    Brady McConnel .306
    Wil Dalton .286
    Jacob Young .265
    Austin Langworthy .253
    Nelson Maldonado .242
    Kendrick Calilao .222
    Cory Acton .222
    Brady Smith .182
    Jud Fabian .120

I took a look at the game by game stats for McConnel on FloridaGators.com and his average is the same as it is on ESPN. Not sure why the totals do not equal the game by game stats on FloridaGators.com.

Yeah LSU fans are very mild and will not partake. Especially vs Florida who are their favorite team.

Wing, LSU is changing with the times:

BATON ROUGE, La. – All LSU baseball fans over the age of 21 will have access to two new areas at Alex Box Stadium featuring beer and wine sales. Named “The Yard,” the new tented areas will be located at the left and right outfield corners. The Yard at Alex Box Stadium will operate in much the same way as The Chute at Tiger Stadium. Fans ages 21 and over can purchase a wristband at either location or near the grandstand entrance gates. The wristband is $20 and includes two beverages. Additional beverages can be purchased inside the premium area starting at $6. Fans who purchase a wristband will have access to both locations of The Yard. Due to Southeastern Conference regulations, all sales must be consumed in the tented area. The left and right field locations will open two hours before first pitch. Beer and wine sales will end at the close of the 7th inning

In my two visits to The Box, I find the crowd more mild than Oxford or Starkvegas. It is more about the baseball where Mississippi is more about the party. LSU drinks pre-game. MSU and Ole Miss drink ALL day (before, during, and after).

I still haven’t been to Baum yet so I can’t compare there. I would rate LSU 3rd in terms of rowdiness from the 15 or so schools I have visited.

Gotta come up with a nifty name first. What to call it?
    Gator bat house?
    Gator watering hole?
    The bog?

Gotta have a plaza area that pays homage to The Grove....done in an Orange (and blue) motif.

<sarcasm>How about Dizney Park at the new Perry Field hosted by Chick Fil A?</sarcasm>

Will they have a seat dedicated to Coach Fuller in the new park like they do currently? I know that it wouldn't be his seat, but it would be a classy move.

I do touch his plaque going into every home game.
