Mr. Pogue has a mighty big act to follow. Let’s get to 13 wins and make this a very hard decision for the committee!!!

Still have a big smile on my face for Mr. Leftwich—

Ok Gators, continue on this path of well played and hard fought Gator baseball—smell the blood in the water and get after’em hard for ALL 27 outs—

    Let’s do this Gators!

We won the series, but Saturday is still a must win. Unlike the final game of most earlier series, the bullpen is rested. I hope Jordan Butler can give us an inning or two if necessary.

If we win today and win at least 1 in Hoover, we have a 25-50% chance of making the postseason. Lose today, we have to win at least 2 in Hoover to back to that 25-50% chance. Win today and 2 in Hoover, I think we are 50-75%, but our name and reputation may put us in. We today and 3 in Hoover and I think we are 100% in. I think more than our RPI is our name. Put Florida as a #3 seed in any regional (especially Miami) over a lesser named school and you sell more tickets which is really all they care about.

Our strength of schedule is #3, last I heard. Swweping F$U and winning a series with scUM should help

It will help. 12-17 in the SEC does not help.

Unfortunately the bad conference record will trump all of the good metrics. Can’t see a way in without a win today absent winning it all in Hoover especially if we are the 11th SEC team in the pecking order. With a win today, we could and should be viewed favorably to Missouri and become the 10th team in that pecking order which is a much better look. Win today and don’t go one and done in Hoover and things will get interesting.

My understanding of the rainout rules is that we would not be able to extend the series a day and play tomorrow - the game would just be washed out.

A wash out is not a loss, but it will hurt us almost the same as it guarantees us the #11 seed. A wash out and we need 2 wins in Hoover minimum, but most likely 3. We most likely would face Ole Miss or Texas A&M on Tuesday and Georgia or Arkansas Wednesday.

If we win today, and win ONE in Hoover then we are in. Per D1 and BA.

I strongly agree. Lose today (or don’t play) means UF needs 2 in Hoover.

Win today and there is a chance even with a loss in Hoover. Win today AND win 1 in Hoover, 90% chance UF makes it. 14 total SEC wins gets a team into the tourney virtually very single year. Especially with a top 5 SOS.

I would be curious on the number of times a 14 win SEC team has been left out. None that I recall but I obviously don’t recall every instance.

Wes posted something a while back listing 3 14-16 SEC teams that have been left out since the field expanded to 64 teams. I don’t recall how those teams fared in Hoover but we are in dire straits trying to get in with 13 (that is if we get the 13th). I do suspect we are in better shape rpi wise than those teams.

Butler easily has 30 pitches. Only three 29 Thursday. Day rest...no problem. Like him against Misner situationally.

Our conference is so much better than others that 13 and 1 in Hoover may do it.

If we can win first game in Hoover and get Leftwich out there against anyone on Wednesday I’ll take our chances.

Yes, Jack would go on 4.5 or almost 5 days rest.

We are in unchartered waters because we haven’t needed to win in Hoover but I don’t expect Sully to throw these guys 100+ and bring them back on short rest. If we can get through today with light usage of Dyson he would be a good Tuesday option assuming he is ready and then come back with Mace on Wednesday. I will be shocked if Mace throws Tuesday.

I think Mace pitches Tuesday. It's a must win and he has few options.
