The Coral Gables branch campus of the University of New Jersey has been swept clean out of the 2019-2020 athletic season by the Florida Gators.

    Great job guys!

    TJ—

I’m thinking we can fill up a tractor trailer rig with band-aids and Alka-Seltzer and probably sell out easy before lunch down there tomorrow—

    You in?;)

I don't know why I thought game was at 7 pm, but I'm glad we won.

A note on Cabarcas - our lowest ranked recruit on this class. Got the least ink in this class just like Soph phenom Jacob Young did in last year's group (how's that for good fortune?).

Cabarcas was listed at 6-0 157 in high school and averaging 85 on his fastball. Now he is listed at 160. Geesh.

Thing is his fastball is now sitting around 90-91. Must have done a lot of strength work in off-season.

Although diminutive he brings a tiger-like street fighter attitude with his game.

For Sully to bring him in as closer in such a high pressure situation and venue like that speaks volumes. Color me wowed.

Couple him with fast baller frosh Sprout and we have two killer relievers in this class.

They will be worth their weight in gold.

Yeah, the size thing is WAY overrated. Lots of college coaches miss great prospects because they are worried about 10 pounds. Guthrie weighed 155-160 at most when he graduated. Kudos to Sully as plenty and I mean plenty would not give Cabarcas a second look due to size and 85. Don’t get me started on the velo thing. Shocked to see programs that turn away when they see 85. All that matters is getting people out.

Anyone have a link to a Canes baseball message board?

I'd love to see them whine.

Miami featured in D1 Baseball's Week 3 "Ouch List":
What Happened: Swept by Florida at home.
Why It Hurts: They were under the white-hot spotlight
This Florida-Miami series was the featured showdown of the weekend (read Walter Villa’s excellent coverage from it) and despite it being nip-and-tuck in all three games – two of which went into extras – the Hurricanes came up short in all of them. It wasn’t a disastrous weekend, but the Canes did come in ranked No. 1 and had the home crowd behind them. In games one and three, the Hurricanes gathered just seven combined hits.
