I'll post the bracket (or link to it) when everything is final and use this thread to track each day's games.

    Tuesday, May 20

Be aware that rain delays will often push start times back. Current Tuesday forecast is slight chance of rain 9-10 am, bigger chances 6-8 pm and 10-midnight.

    Mizzou at Bama, 10:30 am

    KY at OK, 2:00 pm

    SC at FL, 5:30 pm

    TAMU at State, 9:00 pm

I would hate to burn Liam on another rain delay. Leaning towards a bullpen game and if we win running Liam out there Wednesday. Also torn on if I’d rather a host that pairs with a top national seed (lsu/ark) or a 2 seed that pairs with someone “easier” to get through in a super.

Imo uf is better suited for supers than the regional format. The pitching can scrape together 2 out of 3 vs almost anybody.... but playing 4/5 games in a weekend may be more than the staff can handle. So hosting means we hopefully don't have to burn our best arms in game 1 vs a 4 seed.....and try and win it in 3 games

If I had a vote, I would want this game to be about offense and just enough pitching. If we lose it because of errors or too little pitching then we are expected to not host a regional. Not that big of an issue IMO. And if we do enough to win the game (or USCe brain farts the game) then we are set up for our regular rotation moving forward. The upcoming Tuesday game is really a nothing burger.

what was the thought about playing games 5 & 6 on Thursday and games 7 & 8 on Friday? If we win our first two games on Tuesday and Wednesday, I am glad we get Thursday off.

As I posted above, just try to get the win on Tuesday (and if we don't then no real loss) with offense and some effective pitching and then we can go through the regular rotation, beginning with Peterson on Wednesday. THEN we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Our hoops team looked down for the count a few times and persevered. Hope our horsehide brothers can do the same.

Our hoops team looked like a top team in the SEC.

Our baseball team is putting it together with spit and baling wire to look like a good team.

Hats off to them whatever happens.

The other night driving home from a game my wife said "We are running on fumes" and I looked over and we had half a tank of gas. It took me a second to realize she meant our baseball team.

I know, I know but I’d like “resilience” to be a trait for which all our teams are known.

I agree 100% that beating SC is the TOP priority. That surely is the reason Peterson started Thursday, Second priority is beating Miss, best accomplished by King. Those two wins ought to be enough to host. We already have won the series against Ark, so even if we lose to them, just facing them improves our SOS, possibly to #1. Given those details, I don't mind sending Pierce against Ark's top pitcher.

I long have held the opinion that the SEC tourney has the primary value of enriching businesses in the B-ham area at the cost of burning arms a week before Regionals. I'd prefer simply distributing a couple of million bucks to the closest cronies of SEC staff and ditching the tourament. The tournament will only make any difference at all in which teams get bids if aTm, SC or Mo win it. It might affect Regional seeding for a team or two, but might not. If they MUST have a tournament, let the buttom 4, 6 or 8 play for the automatic bid. It would give the bottom teams a real chance to make the tourney- does anyone believe SC or Mo can conceivably win five games in the current format? Of course, that might knock out a team that otherwise would be in, but it would be one of the teams that lost in bottom dweller tourney.

Sully said in his post game interview yesterday that it wouldn’t be Liam/aiden/or pierce starting Tuesday. Guessing it’ll be Jackson that starts.

Never a fan of this tourney, just a money maker for the locals. The newest iteration is just crazy, starting on Tuesday. Guess whomever has the best midweek starters/hitters will roll. Can't believe any top coach will start his best for a midweek game.

Mizzu held top 2 starters out this weekend. makes sense I guess, as winning it is only hope. Could be bad news for Bama though..lol
