we’ve faced the 3 types of offenses you hate for a new staff to see and we saw them early in the season; veteran led QB and veteran team (Utah and UK), duel threat QB (USF), and high flying up tempo passing attack (Tennessee). Now that they’ve been exposed to that, I expect us to improve game by game.
Would recruits like to see more of Watson, McClellan, Boone, James, Scooby, Kamari, Young, and Moore? Who am I kidding. I don't care about the recruits. I just want to see them playing. Delaying their progress puts CBN at risk.
Young is such an excellent special teams guy that is a great tackler. I don't see how Johnson can take all the snaps from him.
How can Johnson take snaps from anyone? Dude looks lost out there. Always about 15 yards away watching the play unfold right in front of him
I have to think that coaches are concerned about a rebellion among the upperclassmen. We have very few though. We are young and need to go younger. If we need upperclassmen, portal is the way to go.
The entire safety room is a problem…so it is them? Or Toney. I will be very glad to see Trey Dean graduate though, for sure. 16 and 22…are super frustrating. Sometimes they play well but Trey dean is always on the wrong end of a play
I think it’s the players out there tbh. I could see if the secondary was looking like we looked vs A&M in 2020 when Mond bombed on us but those were just us losing 1vs1 battles. Yesterday was guys just running wide open and it was Marco, 0, 16, and 22 getting cooked THAT game too. They are who they are
Yeah the defensive miscues killed us yesterday. I’m good with cleaning house in the safety room, it’s gotta change. We need our Neal/Maye/Wrights back. Raymond has gotta get these guys here
almost every time we have a blown coverage or out of position mistake it is one of these two Burney and Dean.
Yes, because that will mess up the already thin depth. They need as many bodies on D as they can use as they slowly bring in new talent.
Most of the guys on our defense prior to BN's recruits weren't all that highly regarded. Add in that they were coached by Turd Grantham. Add the mix together and realize that's what BN inherited,a turd pie. It was far lesser talent than our opponents were playing us with, that had been coached poorly, if they were coached at all. After we beat Utah we saw a lot of potential, if things all went well. Then reality sunk in that we had expected more than they could truly offer. We have 3 seniors on the two deep. Tennessee had more than that on each side of the ball. I'm like many people, impatient for results. But now, I'm mostly looking for continued improvement over the course of the year. I think by season's end that we'll start to see the consistency throughout the games that we need to see. Rome wasn't built in a day, and it wasn't built on sand.
We don't get to see practices, but I am having a hard time understanding what the staff sees in the guys you mentioned. I feel like our ceiling is so much higher with the young guys out there. After that TD by Zip, ofc 0 blows his assignment to lose all momentum. That was an early turning point in the game.
They’re all gone this year anyways outside of trevez Johnson and Torrence. I like Torrence. I think he can be salvaged. The others look like lost causes
