By: Nick Marcinko -- July 30, 2025 Fall camp is here which means the intensity level of practice turns up a notch. One of the intriguing parts of Florida’s 2025 roster is the experience and talent in the trenches. Out of the nine projected starters along the offensive line and defensive line combined, six are redshirt seniors and all nine are at least in their third year at UF. Not only are they experienced, but they’re skilled. Florida returned All-American center Jake Slaughter, a projected early round 2026 draft pick in defensive tackle Caleb Banks, and edge rusher Tyreak Sapp, who graded as the 9th best edge defender in college football last season. Having two experienced and skilled units going head-to-head with each other has created fierce competition in practice. “I want them to hate practice”: Tyreak Sapp talks competition in trenches | GatorCountry.com
He is set for a great season. I can't wait to watch him go beast mode on our rivals this coming season.
This team is beginning to ooze leadership and grit. I can't wait to see what this band of brothers can do against the collections of hired guns they'll face in red pole and thugtown in six weeks or so. For now at least, I'd absolutely rather be us than them. GG.
