Yeah, I was wrong on Toney. I'm still going to be surprised if he can stay healthy and have success in the NFL though.
Well, I'll still be pleasantly surprised if he's just decent. I've been hoping AR was the next Watson and would beat him out, but it doesn't look like that is going to be the case.
Just like I wouldn't count out EJ from being very good, I wouldn't count AR out from playing early. Cam Newton did not look all world his freshman year with us and got very little time at QB, but both he and AR had as freshmen the tools to be devastating dual threat QB. We will have to see if AR develops like Newton did and makes a similar effect on the field.
My concern for next year isn't really QB play as I believe EJ and AR can both deliver enough points to win games as long as they have some quality receivers to throw at and the running game has to be better next year...however not as confident that the D will be any better.
So... are we expecting Tebow and EJ to convince Gilbert to come to UF? Lol... What's up with the subject matter on this thread. Is Gilbert ours or not?
I was about to post the same as above. I don't understand why we start a thread about a potential transfer or recruit, and it morphs into whether our QB or O will be great next year (which it will!). It seems like we are self-inflicting negative energy.
Sounds okay until you look at how the scholly money is spent and do a debit to income ratio, then it melts away like a McFlurry in the hot bayou.

Why would a player like this who is going to be a draft eligible junior after next season transfer and potentially have to sit out a year? Doesn’t make sense. Recall that the SEC has not waived the requirement that intra-conference transfers must sit out a year next season. They only waived it for this year due to COVID.
Bama came in 2nd when he was recruited out of HS, saw a couple other teams mentioned for him but UF was not one of them.
I think the days of sitting out a year are over. This will be his first transfer and under the circumstances, the NCAA will allow him to play.
