I have seen several reports indicating that he might not enroll until the 1st summer term, so we might not know any time soon.
I was in Mechanical Engineering with two guys who were walk on players (a QB and a safety). They were freaks - super smart and good athletes. I had all I could handle just with engineering, could have never played a sport at the same time. Missing the first week of the semester would have doomed me.
I love this for so many reasons. This is why Brewster is a good recruiter. He's got swag and confidence. He engages fans and recruits at the same time.
DM just needs a couple of knowledgeable, affable. energetic recruiters who speak the recruits language.
Apparently posted on his Instagram page. Chain is only in South Florida. Possible that he is considering Miami?
The cup in the picture indicates he was eating at a restaurant chain, Flanigan’s, that is based only in South Florida.
Probably this year's D performance when I thought they'd be decent. Not getting burned again by getting hopes up. Plus I've never been impressed by EJ in the least and AR is too green and CDR is a true frosh. Hopefully the D is massively improved or it could be a long year.
You were also a huge toney critic before last season. I'm with you on the recruiting cynicism about rogue programs but I don't get the Jones stuff. I don't think hes shown enough one way or the other yet but has given enough to believe he may excel when given the opportunity. If nothing else he adds a dimension to the run game which should help his passing windows
The thing that worries me is passing always trumps running. The really good teams require a great passer to beat and I’m not confident he will be there either. I’m not down on him as he hasn’t done anything to disprove his ability, I’m just a bit cautious. We all saw how Lamar Just got shut down.
I understand all that and don't disagree. I will disagree with the Lamar example however because Mullen's system is predicated on a running option which changes things. Lamar makes plays when they break down more or less although obviously he has designed runs as well.
Tebow could throw a deep ball well. Tebow threw to first reads well because of his run threat. People closed their eyes to his struggles reading defenses and going through his progressions. He had a ton of yac yards by his receivers because of the design of the offense and the talent of the receivers including the backs. This is obviously just an opinion but so far Jones looks like a better pure passer than Tebow to me. How he translates to game management is another story
Take a look at the video in the article on the front page of GC. I forgot how good EJ has thrown the ball. It shows him going through the progressions as well. I felt better again after watching it.
